A Good Investment If...

...you have several bikes with Shimano bottom brackets (or one bike you want to keep). Long story short - you won't get the job done correctly without one of these. 3/8" socket so you can use a torque wrench to install. If the bracket is very tight, removal will tip the tool and can result in tearing up the splines of the bracket. Slip the largest Allen wrench you can find through the socket hole and the hollow spindle of the bracket to keep in from tipping and use a wrench on the flats of the tool.

Works Well

What can I saw, it seems to work well. It is nice that you can use either a ratchet wrench or a standard wrench. I still think it is a little pricey for what you get, but I guess that's the story with most bike tools.

Park Tools, the Snap-On of the bike world

You get what you pay for with Park Tools. Expensive but focus built and sturdy enough for bicycle work. This bottom bracket tool is no exception. I bought this to remove a Raceface Cinch chainring and it worked as advertised.

Great tool for the money

Component works as advertised. Pretty straightforward design and application but if you need to see a demo just look for Park Tool’s youtube page.

Replace your own Bottom Bracket

I bought this because it would be about the same cost to have a shop change my bottom bracket and then I'd have the tool for next time. The piece it self is fine. This is the tool for most BB on "lower end" end bikes.
