Tasty and Functional!!!!

Absolutely delicious! I used this product for the first time in the winter season (while snowshoeing). My sister-in-law and I had been going for about 3 hours without any food. I was about to pass out because of the lack of nutrition and I told her that. She reached into her pocket and took out a tiny package, the sesame snaps of course, she gave it to me and as soon as I took a bite I felt ready to go. That was my first experience with the sesame snaps and I've used it on several other ocassions. It's great for taking the edge off hunger, and taste pretty darn good. Well worth the money! I can't wait to see how it will do in the summer season! I have no cons for this product.

Tastes great, and has staying power too!

Impulse aisle candy purchase. Just like I remember from when I was a kid. Actually, for something I would call "candy", it's pretty good nutritionally speaking. With 14g of fat, 6g Protein, 19g carbs and a modest amount of salt, this not only tastes great, but it actually has some staying power to keep you moving long after your usual sugar-fix candy has let you down. The sesame seeds, of course, provide the lipids, which is about equal parts mono and polyunsaturated, with a small amount of saturated fat. Again, much healthier than most fatty junk foods you might be backpacking with. Having just rediscovered it, this will now take up a regular place on my backpacking menu!

Drenched in sugar and overpriced.

I like the taste of toasted sesame seeds but the snack is drenched in sugar which ruins both taste and health. I am in good health and have perfect metabolism. My opposition to too much sugar is due to taste and the reality that high sugar and carb intake causes hyperinsulinemia which is the cause of disease and early death. I'll buy this product again only if the sugar gets cut off to a very low amount and the price drops as well; this is probably more expensive than quality chocolate gram per gram, a very counterproductive strategy if you're trying to sell these snacks (drench them in sugar and overprice it too).

Best pocket-sized snack ever!

I've been buying these ever since I became an REI member in the 1980s. They're small enough to carry in a pocket, tasty, non-messy, last a long time, and have enough nutritional value to keep you going for hours. I keep packets in my car, my backpack, and my suitcase, and they're immensely helpful when I need energy to finish a hike, or when it's several hours until dinner and I suddenly realize that I forgot to eat lunch. (I like the chocolate-drizzled version too, but in warm weather the chocolate melts, making them messier to unwrap and eat.) A winner all around.

Unbeatable Outdoor Treat

I've been using these tasty snacks for the 33 years I have been a member of REI. Why, because they are so flavorful, and packed with calories. Same calories as a power bar, 2/3 the weight, half the cost.

So Tasty

These things are so good I buy them by the box (the 20% discount doesn't hurt either). I love the toasted sesame taste and with a slightly sweet taste they are perfect. I have a hard time not eating more than one package at a time. They are perfect for backpacking since they are very lightweight, tasty, don't need to be prepared and are packed with calories. They will fit in almost any pocket with ease.

Great Tasting Snack

Sesame Snacks may be small, but their taste is incredible! There is no strong aftertaste as in some energy bars. They are probably my favorite snack for camping and a great snack anytime.

Why buy expensive bars?

These don't melt are high energy (good mix of carbs, fat and protein), very tasty and much cheaper and lighter in weight than all of those fancy bars out there. I carry them back country skiing and alpine climbing for quick and lasting energy hits when burning 800 calories per hour, also in my car for those days I don't get time to stop and eat.

Crunchy snack

I always take this backpacking. Easy to eat, either one piece or all at once. Great calories per ounce ratio.
