[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is so close to being a perfect boot. I've owned the shoe version of this boot. The problem is the crease point that forms on the shoe when you bend or squat down. It creates a sharp/tight corner crease on both sides of the front foot. Over time the adhesive and shoe material gives way and tears. All of the sudden there is a hole in the shoe material even though everything else about the shoe has held up and the tread is still good. I own a pair of LaSportiva's that are also goretex and don't have this problem. So while I really like this Keen shoe, I know that longevity wise it isn't going to last. I really wish Keen would tweak this aspect of the shoe while keeping it a leather free shoe.
As with all of the years and styles of keens I have had, this is the best pare I have had! They hug my heal and still have lots of toe room for my wide feet. They aren’t as warm as I was hoping but definitely love the water proof material. They aren’t going to be great hiking however this time of year I wear them every day. I don’t care for the laces hooks as much as some of the older ones. The laces don’t pop in as much. Not a fan of the split toe over sole as much as the full toe but miner details. All and all I love them and are my everyday shoe till I can wear my sandals again! As always, great shoes. And I have had most of them from keen!!
A few years ago, I bought my first pair of Keens. Ever since then, I knew I would be a returning customer. Keen provides the most for space I have ever found in any shoe. I have lots of space for my foot, while also not slipping around in the shoe at the same time. Great heel lock technology. I work on my feet, all day from 8-10 hours, so I need a pair of comfy shoes/sandals if I decide to go out after my shift. Keen is the right choice for my feet! 🐾 I have never thrown a pair of Keens away. Every pair that I have bought, I’ve kept or donated if no longer worn. Better for the planet 🌎🌍🌏 I love these shoes, but they lost a star due to one downside. The laces are secured with plastic anchors. When I buy my next pair, I will be choosing the Men's Hightrail Waterproof Hiking Boot, as the shoelaces are secured better.
Nice looking boots, but a little tighter out of the box than KEEN usually is (for my usual size, I've worn 6-8 different types of KEEN). The deal breaker is the toebox is "short", so the width is fine but the top of my big toe hits the top of the boot. It might stretch with wear, but I decided to return rather than hope for that. Heel feels a little tight also, and this was testing with athletic socks, not hiking socks. I also see where others reported the material starts crease was threatening to crease even during kitchen-walk-around tests. They're really light, a full half pound lighter than my usual Targhees. Really nice look and aesthetic design. Wish the fit was closer to normal KEEN.
These boots feel like sneakers ! Very lightweight & the sole has great grip, very comfortable & flexible!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last week, I received my newest pair of Keen shoes. I purchased the NXIS EVO Waterproof Boot after loving my NXIS EVO waterproof shoes that I have had for the last 4 months. These boots have exceeded my expectations! They are light weight, definitely waterproof, and are warm which helps when walking in the Central Oregon snow. Overall, I have been very pleased with Keen shoes. This is my 4th pair overall of Keen shoes and I keep going back to Keen for the comfort and fit!
Keen boots have been a favorite for me for the past 20 years. They have been with me on every hike up the mountains and in the jungle in Colombia with my medical team. I have had positive experiences with each style of Keen. My next trek is in February where I will spend a week in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in northeast Colombia 🇨🇴. In mud, sand, water and dirt… they have always exceeded my expectations and kept me upright and moving forward.
I purchased these for my husband for the holidays. He wears Keen all of the time. This boot has small external cords that attach the top shoestring hook to the heel. The inflexible plastic hook caught on a loose cord, causing him to trip more than once. We clipped the decorative cord off, and tightened the moderately useful cords so they were more difficult to catch. The boot itself seems to be comfortable, but the exterior design needs work.
When i bought a pair of keen boots for the first time (San Jose 6" soft tioe), i liked them. They were durable, comfortable, and looked great, and i thought i couldn't find any better boots, and then i found the NXIS EVO Waterproof. They fit perfect, extremely comfortable, truly waterproof and look great! i now have 3 pairs. One for work, one for every day/everywhere and one just because i love them! I definitely recommend them.
Got these boots for a long hike I will have in April in Africa. Main pull was they are one of the best rated and waterproof. The Hard toe is a nice feature and feels good in the heel with the heel lock laces. Only issue I have with them so far are it’s a 6” boot I believe but the back heel part comes down about 1” for some reason so hopefully water won’t go in back there since it’s the main reason I got them.
