Zippo mag strike fire starter

It works but it takes a lot of effort. I tried this fire starter using Zippo tinder shreds which ignite easily with a direct flame. You have to hit the bar pretty hard to get a good spark and I hit it hard many times but could not get the tinder shreds to ignite. I then put a very thin balled up napkin under the shreds and again hit the bar many times aiming the sparks at the napkin. It finally ignited and caught the shreds on fire. Using this tool along with a small squirt bottle of gasoline would probably work much better, or just use a good lighter.
