I bought these ahead of a climb in the north cascades and absolutely love them. The reinforced area on the bottom worked well with crampons - no annoying crampon skewer holes in the bottom, lol. High rise worked well with a pack/harness. Reasonably wind proof and water resistant. The inclusion of the Recco tab at the bottom is a really nice touch and added peace of mind. I got these on sale and I think for the price these are a great find. I’m usually a 6 (29 inch waist), but sized up for the 8 in these and glad I did.
I was excited to find a pair of women’s soft shells with pockets and vents. Unfortunately even unzipped these pants do not pull down over my Scarpa ski boots.
