Very light weight and comfortable.
I love it so much! The fit is exactly what I was looking for - cute and boxy, but not too cropped. The fabric and down fill is SUPER soft. I got in the oyster color which is even better in person than online shots - feels very elevated. Even though this may not be the "most waterproof", I can confirm it is highly water resistant. It kept me dry and warm during a rainy PNW day, even after a car splashed me w a puddle! The (dirty) water bounced right off leaving no trace behind - which was such a relief considering the color of the coat. All in all this piece exceeded my expectations SO much so that I felt compelled to share with whoever will listen ;-)
I was looking for a shorter jacket to wear on the coldest days in central Alabama and this jacket was perfect if not a little too warm in some instances (you will be boiling if the temperature reaches 45 degrees Fahrenheit)! I love the high collar and the DWR worked very well on our one snow day. It runs a little large, which allowed me to get an XL. As another expert mentioned, it may be a little short in the arms for taller people to use the thumb holes. I am also 5'9" and it took a little stretch for me. This jacket is easy to move in and super cozy! I would likely recommend it for apres ski, light snow days, or urban commuting in cold temperatures.
This is my FALL/WINTER go to jacket! It's so versatile. I get compliments everywhere I go. I purchased in yellow and I love the cut (it's more crop but actually very flattering) and it's so warm without that big bulky feeling! I can't take it off. Love the quality, fit and color. I normally am a size medium, but ordered a small in the coat and it fits perfect and I am still able to layer underneath.
I am 5'9'' and 190lbs. Bought a size L and it fits with room for a bulky sweater underneath. Very warm and comfortable. The high collar means I can often go without a scarf or hood; the long sleeves, knit cuffs, and warm pockets mean I can often go without gloves. It's the perfect throw-it-on layer for walking the dog or going to the store. When I'm all done up with hat and gloves and everything it is warm enough for spending hours outside in -10C weather. Blocks wind effectively, and drawcords at the hem keep wind from sneaking in the bottom.
I really like this jacket! Bought the deep teal and it's a really rich jewel tone, nice and dark but still bright. I really like the zipper snap combo. The shape is pretty stylish so good for the workplace and outdoors, mostly worn in mild city hike weather for now. I was hoping to get it as a stand alone puffy and it's not quite warm enough for that, but a great layering piece. I fit the M and L (5'8" 130lbs) and I bought the L for easier layering. I like the inside mesh pocket. I wish it was a little warmer but I love this jacket!
My husband bought this for me as a surprise present. It is very warm, the color is lovely and it's stylish. It has become my go-to coat for shopping/daily activity in the fall/winter. It has an inside mesh sleeve (pocket without a flap) for holding some loose items. I don't use this for my utilitarian coat but this appears durable for outdoor adventures. The fabric is a bit weaker than my other winter coat so I do have to be careful about snagging it on anything but it'll be perfect for snowshoeing or hiking. My only issue is that it might not be long enough to cover my rump if I were to take it skiing as I'm accustomed to a bit longer of a ski jacket to prevent snow from entering my bibs. After a month of wear, it still looks lovely and my husband loves it too.
I absolutely LOVE this jacket! It is very light, incredibly warm, the color is exactly as represented on the website, and there are many thoughtful features that denote this jacket as an Outdoor Research product! I particularly love the stylish black buttons and the stylish jet black zipper. The jacket is also very soft and comfortable, as advertised. So far I have only worn this jacket in urban and rural settings (on the train or on my way to holiday gatherings), and, to be honest, I'm a little too fond of it to subject it to the dangers of the backcountry! My only concerns/complaints about this coat are that it has only three pockets total and that I'm not sure its fabric could stand up too well against the dirt, bark, thorny bushes, and fire smoke likely to be encountered outdoors. It might though!
So far, wearing this only around town and it's been great. Much warmer than my other jacket with the same fill power. It is cropped and boxy but if you're short like me that means the length is perfect. Since the hemline isn't nipped in, it actually fits across the hips, where other jackets can be too snug for short people. Normally a 6-8 and the small fits perfectly with room for layers even. Wish it had an internal zip pocket, but otherwise very happy with this jacket!
I bought the white one a few months back. It was 700 FII and the price was great . It was warm without being bulky and I enjoyed wearing it. BUT it did not was well. Instructions were followed (I washed two Patagonia jackets too and they are fine). The down has detached and bunched in places so there is no insulation in some parts of the jacket. I'm quite disappointed and bummed. Was thinking of buying OR for my family but will not do that now.
