I love this bag. Great weight/temp rating for a non mummy shape that has a full zip allowing it to be turned into a quilt. I debated for a while between bags and ultimately chose this one. I’ve used it on a 9 night trip in the sierras and this past week on a 4 day/80 mile trip. I’ve also used it on shorter overnighter. It compresses well for its size/loft, i fit it at the bottom of my 55l pack just fine in a stuff sack, i don’t compress it. I do wish the hood was a bit deeper but it’s a good bag and I hope it lasts me 7-10 years like people say they do! The only down side i can see is in cold temps it may not retain heat as well as a mummy shape but I’ve taken it down to the 30s and was cozy warm despite my tent being covered in frost!
Love it! It is spacious and keepnyounwarm or hot and cozy. Not heavy and really well made. It feels nice amd keeps me warm. On the expensive side but well worth it.
This has to be the most comfortable sleeping bag available. The 15 degree is a comfort rating and not some ISO rating.. Western Mountaineering makes the best bags. This will be used for shoulder season backpacking in the Cascades. Do not hesitate on purchasing this bag. Its amazing, warm, and very roomy. The baffles are perfect, the hood and collar fit amazing while still keeping the comfort high. This bag is well worth its price in gold.
Stupid of REI not to offer the short versions of this. Do people under 6’ not go backpacking?? Once again the short women are let out and the dumb tall bros win. I just didn’t expect it from REI.
