We were looking for a new, comfortable, and cute harness for my wife, and we found the Selena! She loves the colours, but we did have to size down one, as the sizing chart does not seem accurate. It is comfortable and easy to adjust. However, the design is somewhat flawed, as you'll see in the photos attached. When we line up the tie-in loops in front, her posterior leg straps are askew. When her leg straps are perfectly aligned, then her belay loop and tie-in loops are misaligned. This isn't too much of an issue for the gym, as she doesn't carry much gear. If we were outside, then it would be challenging for her to carry any gear, except what might fit on her right harness loops.
Overall, I like this harness. The fit was great - the leg loops weren’t too tight, and the waist got tight enough. There’s ample room on the gear loops and it’s comfortable carrying draws and an anchor. I also love the purple color! The one negative thing I experienced with this harness was when belaying heavier partners. When they fall, the leg loops occasionally pinch the inside of my thighs.
I have an older model of the Selena in size small and it fits like a glove. It's been an excellent harness. I ordered a new Selena, also in size small, and the leg loops are HUGE! I have an athletic, gymnast's type build; I already have a small waist and muscular legs. The only type of woman's physique I imagine could fit the size small would be a weight lifter or a cross fit athlete. Someone with a small waist and very thick legs. I reordered in size extra small and the leg loops fit well, but I can't get the waist band to overlap, but it works alright. Kinda too bad that Petzel changed their sizing so drastically.
I really like this harness, it's so comfy! I haven't worn it outside yet, but I've taken some falls at the gym and did some hanging on it when projecting harder routes and it never felt uncomfortable. I was a little nervous that the leg loops aren't adjustable, but they fit over my thighs perfectly (and they're not small). I wear large in a lot of bottoms because of my big butt and thighs, but I got this in a medium based on the specs and it fits great. It's officially winter in Colorado so I don't know when I'll get to use it outside, but I'm looking forward to it!
This harness is extremely easy to slip on, with an adjustable strap around the waist and a piece of elastic on the leg straps it is simple to put on and overall very comfortable. You can climb for hours. There is also clips for the straps on your bottom to make bathroom breaks easier.
I received this harness for free in exchange for an honest review. This is my first experience with a harness designed specifically for women, and I'm never going back. When I first put the harness on, it felt odd because I was used to using my boyfriend's old harness, and there is a definite difference between the "standard" harness made for men and a harness made for women. But after my first climb I was a convert. The waistband is curved and padded, which results in a supportive, more comfortable fit. I love the elastic on the leg loops, which give a secure but not overly tight fit that still allows for maximum movement. I've comfortably spent several hours at a time in this harness (and those are words I never thought I would type). And most importantly (to me), the belay and tie-in loops are incredibly sturdy -- thick and durable, with multiple rows of reinforced stitching. I'm looking forward to using this harness for years. For reference, I'm an athletic size 4, and the Small fit me perfectly (waist 28-30 inches, leg loops 20-24 inches). Although I'm a size 4, I do have curvy hips and a butt, which is perhaps why I find this harness so much more comfortable than those designed for men. On a completely superficial level, I also like the violet color, which is a pretty light purple with dark purple accents. Isn't it great when useful things are also beautiful?
Comfy functional harness for sport climbing. I'm a size 6/8 in women's clothing and the M fit well for me. My only irk about this is that the leg loops are only adjustable through the stretchy elastic, but there are no adjustable loops. I have fairly thick, athletic thighs and I was able to get them through comfortably and the elastic adjusted accordingly. I just personally like the option to adjust them through the loops.
I bought this harness last year and the lower hard point is already showing significant signs of wear all the way down to the threading. I thought that Petzl was a product brand that I could trust for safety and quality, but unfortunately I was wrong.
First off, is it strange to love the color?! Overall, a comfortable harness that is great for all sorts of climbing - top roping, lead, etc...Easy to put on and adjust as needed. I really wish though the legs were adjustable. I have a smaller waist but thicker thighs and this was snug.
Decided to finally buy my own harness and stop borrowing friends/renting. I could not be more happy! I absolutely love the color and the harness is so comfy and easy to use. the side loops are the perfect size and so convenient. Took it out for a full day of climbing and almost forgot I was wearing it.
