[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Strombird jacket is fantastic - super high quality, premium build and feel... durable and comfortable to wear. I went slightly oversized which is great for layering and fits really nicely.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been very pleased with the jacket, the build quality is excellent when compared to other brands, happy with the fit and the range of adjustment to hoods etc. I've not had a chance to test the full extent of the water resistance so can't review this. The one point I would like to make is that I almost did not buy the jacket due to the operation of the main zip, in the shop it took multiple times to engage/disengage before I could zip the jacket up, this was frustrating to say the least. Anyways I did buy the jacket and during the short time I have had it the newness has worn of the zip and it operates with ease. I think it would be wise to inform prospective purchasers that over time the zip will operate with ease.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In July whilst on holiday in St Ives it rained and I decided that my old waterproof had seen better days so I purchased a Stormbird from the local store. For weeks thereafter it didn’t rain but with the recent change in the weather I have worn it regularly so I am now able to do a review. It has kept me dry in torrential downpours and it feels very substantial which I suspect will result in it lasting many years to come.It seems very well made with fully taped seams. I like the four zipped pockets one of which is internal.A very pleased customer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’d been looking for a replacement coat for a while. My main goal was to find a company that was ethically focussed and who didn’t use forever chemicals for waterproofing. Finisterre met those requirements but looking online I was torn between the Skybird and Stormbird. A quick visit to the Covent Garden store in London, and the additional pockets and heavier weight of the latter swayed my decision. I’ve been caught in a few downpours since buying it and I haven’t been disappointed in the fit and quality.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Every 2 years or so I end up buying a new rain jacket, and they are a necessity for someone who adventures in the US Pacific Northwest. At some point they usually lose their ability to repel water and I can see them falling apart. But I’ve never invested in a 3L one like this, and I can really feel the difference. It feels solidly made, and it feels like I have some good storm protection that can potentially last longer. It looks good too, and I feel comfortable wearing it to work and social settings, as I do hiking up a mountain. Probably the only thing I’d change is maybe move the side pockets down a bit so I put my hands in them more comfortably, but other than that, it feels amazingly perfect. I’ve never felt so comfortable walking in the rain. I’m 5’-5”, athletic build, and a small fits well. I have space underneath to layer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this proper rain jacket - exactly as described & stylish as a rain jacket can be. Obviously, amazing quality you’d expect from Finisterre. The only thing is (and this might not be fair as it may change with more use) is the stiffness of the fabric in shoulder area which gives it a rather boxy look. I guess at this price I just expect it to be perfect. But i do love it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket was bought as a gift and the recipient loves it. It is excellent quality, stylish and definitely worth the money. The jacket was liked so much that another colour has been purchased.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for a genuine waterproof jacket for a while as I work outside and often get caught in the rain and wind. I went into the shop looking at a light option, but when I tried this on i was sold.It is on the expensive side, but its just as advertised, top quality, fits perfectly and feels like it will last!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Feels relatively lightweight (which is good so that you don’t feel weighed down by your garb) but wind proofing and water proofing (though it’s been more showerproof so far this year ) have been exemplary as well as moisture wicking which has all made walking the dog all the more enjoyable.
