I'm not impressed.
First, I ordered my Sorel Glacier XT boots from Sorel. If you want these boots I suggest buying them from a store and not ordering. The shipping time was crazy long. While it hasn't been cold yet my review is of my first impression of the boot. I wear a size 7 shoe and by following the size guide on Sorel.com I ordered a size 8 (they come in half sizes). They fit like a 7.5 -8 so I would say their sizeing guide is pretty accurate. If you were going to be doing a lot of walking on uneven terrain you may want a different boot as I wasn't impressed with the lack of any ankle support. They just feel like they have less ankle support from other boots I have had in the past. I do like the taller shafts on the boots. I was always getting snow into my last pair of boots (Baffin snow monster). It seemed like I was always in snow just above the boot top, I do not think that will be an issue with these boots. I really liked the Baffin boots I had, they were warm comfortabe outstanding traction, but the soles fell apart bad and with very little wear. The soles on these Sorel Glacier boots look to be a much more sturdy, not a few layers glued together like the Baffin. Despite being tall enough to help keep snow out, one huge drawback for me with the longer shafts on these boots, you can't just just slide your feet into them like a shorter boot the boot shafts and felt liners are simply not stiff enough to do that. This is my first new pair of Sorel boots in probably 30 years. While they do have some areas I considered better than my old boots, I'm still just not that impressed with them. I've had them 2 days and they are already for sale.
Too narrow for normal size feet
I normally wear a size 10D shoe. My old pair of Sorel boots was also a 10. I read online that you should order a size up to accommodate thicker socks so I ordered size 11. The boots were so narrow that I couldn't even get my foot in the boot. They were so tight that they pinched my hand when I tried to stretch them. You would have to have tiny feet to wear these.
