Not Practical
These boots are really cute, especially worn with the tops rolled down, and the waterproofing is genuinely very good. Unfortunately, the fit and traction were major problems for me. Even ordering a half size smaller than my usual size, my feet still slid around inside the boots. The pull-string tightening system doesn’t cinch enough to actually secure your foot, and my heel was lifting several inches with every step. It made me feel unstable and not confident walking, like my foot could slip out at any moment. The traction was the biggest dealbreaker. These were scary to wear on anything icy. Even snow-covered ice, which usually gives a bit more grip, felt extremely slippery. It honestly felt like wearing house slippers on a skating rink. They’re stylish (in a weird way like crocs) and waterproof, but between the poor lockdown and lack of traction, I couldn’t safely wear them in real winter conditions.
Good boots
These are comfortable and warm, and waterproof to boot boots. I like that I can feel the ground under my feet, and that they’re not bulky, so it’s relatively easy to put cleats on them if it’s perilously icy.
