Great product! Problem with REI
Yeah - so this product works great. Its threaded two piece assembly screws together and holds the bully in place. Definitely strong enough to withstand getting gnawed on when my husky gets frustrated with it and tries to liberate the stick. Great product 5/5* What I am unhappy with is REI changing their dividend policy to having a redemption period of 12mo reduced from 21mo, effective 02/28/2026. This is on-top of the previous reduction in the dividend policy. I was under the impression that this was a co-op? Where’s the board in all this? -1000/5* (review left 02/04/2026)
my dogs way of waking us up
My partner and I bought this for our great pyrneese/ Anatolian shepherd mix when he was a puppy so he could safely chew bully sticks he’s now 4 1/2 months old and uses it to throw at the ground as hard as possible to attempt to wake us up.. it does a decent job of holding the bully stick on recommended two man to tighten it I just wish it was lined on the outside with a thick rubber or something so it didn’t become a before bed fear “DID YOU TAKE IT AWAY?”
Avoid! Not Safe!
My 3+ year old dog has been getting bully sticks as treats almost daily for a couple years. He's had two prior bully stick holders from different brands, and it has taken about a year each for the plastic to become rough and chewed enough to warrant replacement. That's when I bought this one. He had the end unscrewed and the bully stick completely removed within 30 seconds of me giving it to him for the first time. Assuming it must've been user error, I screwed in the end as tightly as I could manage. Although it took him closer to a minute the second time, he still made short work of getting the thing unscrewed, creating the very choking hazard this item is meant to prevent. Even though the product failed at its only job, REI attempted to not accept the return because...wait for it...there were bite marks in the plastic. Seriously?! It's designed to give to a dog to chew on it...of course, it had bite marks on it. I had to explain the situation to 2 cashiers and one manager before they agreed to a refund.
Extends bully stick
Our bernedoodle loves bully sticks and her paws are so big that without the bully safe she was only able to enjoy about half of each one. This device allows her to consume all but about 2 inches. It paid for itself with one bag of bully sticks.
