No Hand Pockets ?!!??
I got so excited by the color and the dual chest pockets that I failed to notice that there are no hand pockets. $219 should warrant the additional pockets. Not certain I’ll be keeping this.
Excellent Layer for New England Weather
Tried this on during a visit to REI in Cambridge, MA, and I was instantly impressed by the warmth and comfort. New England’s spring weather can be unpredictable—windy mornings, sudden temperature drops—and this hoody handled it all with ease. The R1 Thermal is warmer than the regular R1 but still breathable enough for active days. I wore it hiking in the Berkshires and also around town on chilly evenings. The full-zip makes it easy to layer, and the fit is flattering without feeling restrictive. The high collar and snug-fitting hood are especially nice when the wind picks up, and the fleece inside is super soft. Patagonia really knows how to balance technical performance with comfort. Glad I had the chance to try it in-store—REI always makes the process smooth and the staff were helpful with sizing. This is definitely a piece I’ll be using year-round.
Runs too small
An ok product for too much money and runs very small. A return from me.
Great mid layer
Perfect for winter activities. Love the two chest pockets for easy access under a ski jacket or under a harness for mountaineering. Stretchy and fits true to size.
Wear this jacket often. Wish they made more colors
Love the color, extra added layer. I don’t mind where the pockets are located. I’m always taking this jacket with me everywhere. Very stylish.

Excellent product. I keep credit cards and iPhone in top chest pockets. Hood fits over my ball cap or under my cycling helmet. Love it. Might buy another one.
