Finally found a breathable shell for high-output touring
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically never wear a shell when touring even when it is dumping snow. My philosophy was I would rather be wet from the snow than from my own sweat. This year Outdoor Research gave me this free product to try so I figured I would challenge my conventions and force myself to wear a shell on the uphill when the weather was inclement. While it isn't the magically garment I want that causes zero perspiration, and is 100% waterproof I was very surprised and how well it breathed and let me expel heat without trigger excessive sweating. Pockets are well though out, and arm vents are sufficiently long to give the extra cooling needed during high output recreation.

Functional, Breathable Hardshell for Backcountry and Resort Skiing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is a hardshell with a softshell feeling. It's nice and stretchy, soft, and generally breathable. I don't like being in hardshells during high output activities, but it's not bad in the Cloudchaser 3L jacket. I believe this jacket is intended for backcountry use, but also has the versatility of being a resort jacket because it has a pocket on the left forearm in which a resort pass can be placed. Other features include one left zippered chest pocket, bilateral armpit zips, powder skirt, helmet compatible hood with cinches at the back of the head and face, sealed zippers and taped seams, velcro wrist cinches, internal left pocket for gloves, 2 external zippered hand pockets, and a loop on both the inside and outside of the jacket for hanging. The color scheme is also pretty sleek and the blue is very appealing in a lower key way. I'm 5'7'' and 165 lbs and wear a medium. It's a regular fit and has room to put multiple insulating layers underneath including a puffy. What would I change about this jacket? I'd add one more internal pocket. Outdoor Research gave me this free product to try.
