I was going to purchase the ECHO 20 but spent the extra $ and got this bag. I started adventure bike camping and its smaller and comes with a stuff sack along with the compression bag which is a huge win. I wish it had the attachment on the back for securing my sleeping pad and a pillow sleeve but im not bothered it does not have it. Nice and warm bag in the 30 degrees I slept like a baby after I deflated my sleeping pad a bit. The zipper wasnt too bad to zip up and down considering its a lighter type zipper and not the big heavy ones. It was nice and long to zip all the way down to my feet. The head cover was a bit small to fit a pillow in if you want to cover your head with it so i put my pillow on the outside. Overall I would buy it again for sure.
Purchased the Exped Terra 15 since it was on sale and rated for winter temps, not really expecting much. With my experience with the last “15 degree” bag I purchased on Amazon, I also brought an extra down quilt… that I didn’t touch the entire night. Temps were down to 28 degrees with strong winds and I was snug as a bug and warm as a worm! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a solid bag.
I bought the medium wide bag. The bag kept me warm in 30 degrees F and has a nice design. It turns out that wide is very wide so I could sleep with my 8 year old and I in the bag! The storage bag is mesh and I’d have preferred a storage bag with full coverage to keep it clean when not in use but it is a small thing they can improve. The bag is great!
Warm bag and a great value. I actually bought this for my son. He was warm and the rest of us froze. Temps were about 39 degrees and windy. He used it with a subpar sleeping pad and it still was warm.
This is a great sleeping bag for beginner backpackers/camping! It’s warm enough for cooler weather, but not too sweaty in the summer. For reference, I am 5’4 110lbs and ordered a small size and have enough room to move around or sleep on my side in the fetal position. My boyfriend is 5’10 and 160lbs and he has MORE than enough room in the regular size.
I got this for my wife and she loved it, it insulates her well and very comfy
First, some sizing info: I am a 6-foot, 185 pound man, and it's perfect for me - there's a little wiggle room in all directions for comfort. I bet you could be a little heavier, and a little taller, and it would still be doable. Review: For the money... this sleeping bag seems to almost stand alone. With the materials available at this price point, they have somehow come up with a bag that is relatively lightweight, seemingly well-constructed and with an impressive temperature rating. It's really quite awesome for most of us non-pro backpackers. I just did an overnight on a windy alpine lake, and I would guess the temp was about 20 degrees F. I could not have been more comfortable, it was perfect. This thing is PACKED with down; some other bags I have used have visible voids, but not this bag. It also compresses to a very acceptably small size for this comfort rating/price. Zippers seem good so far; they can get caught a little, but once you get the hang of how to keep the baffle and zipper garage out of the way, it's all good. The included stuff sack is super high-quality, too, but is a little bulky/heavy, if you're ounce-conscious. My only "complaint" is that the inner baffle snap broke the first trip. This isn't THAT big a deal, though, as I was still comfy and didn't notice drafts (plus, their return/replacement policy is GREAT, if I wanted to pursue it.) I do wish they would replace this with a piece of velcro or a little magnet or something, though. Overall, this is one of those rare pieces of gear that just seems to check ALL the boxes: reasonably priced, comfy, well-made, etc. I am looking forward to using it more and seeing how it holds up long-term.
The Terra 15 is, in my opinion, the best value of comfort, quality, performance, and value on the market today. Period.
