Thule OnShore
The OnShore has some features that could use improving. The area where the reels attach is very hard plastic and could damage the reel during transport/bouncing if doing any off-road travel. Foam padding should be included. Also, there is no "quick release" to take the onshore off, without removing the entire roof rack, making automated car washes impossible. Please add a quick release feature!

I'm glad to hear you appreciated the high quality of the fishing rod carrier build and materials. When fully secured, the rod retainers on the inside of the carrier shell should hold the rods steady and secure over most paved, dirt and gravel roads. Thule accessories are generally not approved for fully off-road use, unless explicitly stated, so driving over rough terrain can affect the fit and performance of the carrier. I understand your desire for a quick-release for this roof-mounted fishing rod carrier. It would certainly make it easier to use automatic car washes! However, such a mechanism would present a security risk for carriers transporting high-value fishing rods, so Thule prioritized the security of the fishing rods and the more stable attachment of the conventional underbar bracket system. Automatic car washes are generally not recommended for any vehicle carrying Thule accessories to avoid possible damage to the accessory and the car wash. Hand washing or touchless car wash is the preferred method of cleaning with a Thule product installed. I hope you continue to enjoy using your Thule OnShore!
