Great active jacket for kids!
Bought this as a colder but not cold weather jacket, something between the heavy winter waterproof jacket and the fleece jacket. Son LOVES it. It is lightweight and not bulky, perfect for playing outside above freezing temps with long sleeves under. This was one of the few jackets I found for little boys with a drawstring hem. My kiddo is long and lean and so many jackets just have elastic hems and don't block the cold air from blowing up the waist. Love that this has dual drawcords and we can cinch it up to keep in the warmth. Hand pockets don't have zippers so do need to be aware if stow gloves in them that they may fall out. Hood is snug and comfy. Son likes that he has a poofy coat like Mommy with the shiny dots inside. :-) We went with the wine/red and son loves the combo (he's a fan of pink right now). Only giving four stars right now since can't comment on durability yet.
warm without being too bulky

I'm grateful that Columbia continues to sell this style and color. We bought a slightly larger size so that he can layer underneath. The hood fits his head nicely so that it's not too snug yet doesn't slip off, thereby keeping his head warm. It's roomy enough to allow for a stocking cap.
My son is happy
My son is happy and warm. He has sensory perception struggles, so many jackets don’t work for him because he perceives them as uncomfortable. It has been tough to find a jacket that will keep him warm in cold Midwestern winters and be comfortable. This jacket ticks all the boxes, highly recommend!
Warm and cozy
As of right now, we really enjoy this jacket. It's a little snug to zip-up, but that's okay. It protects well against the wind. Today there are sub zero temps outside, so we are curious to know how it will hold up! We are hoping this jacket lasts a long time :)
