Wear and work well - except for shoelaces
These are durable, comfortable, and very functional. My big complaint is that the shoelaces don't stay tied even half the day, and they're too short to double-knot. Will REI please tell Columbia to supply shoelaces that stay tied all day?

Nice enough shoe that's limited by a design flaw
These shoes are comfortable, with good cushioning and ample space in the toe box. I have two issues with them though that will probably keep me from buying another pair. First, the tongue is oddly a little bit short for where the last eyelets are located and where the laces sit when tied. The laces keep wanting to slide over the top of the tongue and rest against the top of my ankle, which then messes up how secure the fit is because the laces aren't tight anymore. I have to tie the laces tigher than I'd otherwise like to keep my heel from sliding around because the laces won't stay in one place. Speaking of the laces, they're made of extremly smooth material that refuses to stay tied. Double knotting fixes the issue (and I suppose I could always just buy new laces), but I shouldn't have to.

Great comfort and stability!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes are really comfy. I can say these are very stable and good looking shoes. The ankle gets well supported, and they are comfortable and flexible. You wouldn’t think they are that flexible by having a look to them while in your hands.

Nice lightweight athletic style hiker

Nice waterproof everyday shoe. Styled like an athletic shoe, this is a very attractive shoe for everyday wear and even looks pretty good with slacks. The fact that it is waterproof makes it a good hiker as well, though the sole is not super aggressive like most pure hikers. My only complaint is that the insole has little arch support and will require an insole for many wearers. Looks well made and sturdy overall. The laces go up to the very top of the tongue which is a bit high for everyday wear (works for hiking to hold your foot more firmly in the shoe) but it was no issue to just bypass the very topmost metal loops and tie at the second eyelet,

A great waterproof all around walking/hiking shoe.

I bought these right before a winter trip to Madrid, Valencia, Lisbon, and Setubal. I wore them almost every day for two months. They were perfect. No break-in required and they're waterproof which was really helpful in Portiugal because it rained a lot, almost daily. People complained about an issue tying them up. They are a bit annoying in that area but I discovered a way to tie them where they did not ride up onto my ankles and stayed tied with double knotting. I never had a problem and will be taking them with me again this year. The width and depth of the box really helped accommodate my orthotics. I took one star away for the lacing issue, but it is easily resolved with a bit of experimentation.

Great but improve outsole

I have been searching for the right shoes for some time. I have found the nimble, Konos, and Thrive to work well. They are comfortable and yet supportive. The one thing I would like Columbia to do is to improve the durability of the outsoles for each of these shoes. They are a bit soft and wear quickly, long before the shoe itself needs to be replaced. I have also tried Merrell, Keen, Danner etc all which have a much more durable outsole. Thank you for making a very comfortable, but please improve the durability of the outsole.

Excellent quality and value

I really like these shoes. They run true to size for me and are very comfortable. Quality materials and construction combined with performance features such as being waterproof and breathable. Style is an excellent cross between casual and active.

Comfortable shoe

Ordered on line and the shoes were great. Very comfortable. Very good traction - does tend to hold the dirt and leaves in the tread so stomp your feet to clear them off before going indoors. Nice looking and a good value for the price.

Comfortable, multi functional

Great pair of shoes. I bought a pair to wear around Edinburgh, Scotland. They were comfortable right out of the box. I have a wide foot and had no issues with fit. I hiked off road with them and through the city. 25k steps and my feet felt fine. Highly recommend. A good shoe for a beginner or casual wearer.
