New Balance  FuelCell Rebel v5 Road-Running Shoes - Men's

At 51 years old and currently training hard — lifting 5x/week with regular runs mixed in — these have been a great pickup. They feel light, responsive and comfortable straight out of the box, with enough FuelCell pop to keep runs fun without beating up my legs. They’re especially good for easy to moderate runs on tired legs from strength work, and they disappear on foot during longer sessions. Not a max-cushion shoe, but that’s exactly why they work so well in a mixed training week. Easy to run in, easy to recover from — perfect for how I train right now.

After almost 100km of running in the New Balance FuelCell Rebel (from v3 to v5), the experience has been consistently great. The shoe responds really well to my wide feet and feels comfortable for easy runs, tempo sessions, and interval training. Truly a solid all-rounder that supports all types of running workouts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been running in the New Balance FuelCell Rebel v5 for a little over a month now, and honestly, I’ve been really impressed. I had been looking for something lightweight but still cushioned enough for daily runs, and they’ve hit that sweet spot. The ride feels soft underfoot but still has a nice bit of pop when I pick up the pace which is perfect for easy miles and the occasional tempo. They fit true to size for me, with a secure midfoot and just enough room in the toe box to stay comfortable on longer runs. The upper feels snug without being restrictive, although it can get a little warm on hot days. Traction has been solid on dry pavement, and even in light rain they’ve held up well. After around 150 km, they’re showing minimal wear, which is better than I expected given the exposed foam in the midfoot. If I had to nitpick, they’re not the most stable on sharp turns or super fast efforts, but that’s not what I need them for anyway. Overall, they’ve become my go-to shoe for most runs - comfortable, fun to run in, and surprisingly versatile.

Beautiful shoe, very lightweight, and great quality . Not good for flat feet

Super comfortable shoe but unfortunately did not suit my feet, very unstable shoe, feet roll around allot in these, should have tried them on in store before purchase, but can't say that there a bad shoe just not for me.

Amazing high quality running shoes, very light and super comfortable. I’m able to run further and faster without feeling sore. Would highly recommend these runners!!!

Not really a fan of these shoes. They already hurt

This is the softest shoe I’ve ran in. I’m a high school athlete and in turn, I’ve trained in many different shoes. It’s between this and the vomero premium, but I think I’m picking this shoe. It’s great for easy runs, long runs, they perform great during workout sessions, and they effortlessly got me through Steens Mountain Running Camp. This is a 10/10 shoe and I will most certainly be getting another pair once my current trainers die out.

I could feel the difference in the FuelCell Rebel v5 from my first run. They feel lightweight, responsive, and energetic while still providing enough cushioning to stay comfortable as the miles add up. They’ve been a great addition to my training rotation and give me a noticeably different ride from my everyday trainers, especially when I want to pick up the pace.
