this newer bag is NOT the same high quality of the older Sawtooth model. Reduced dimensions, reduced fill weight, especially on the back. if you are a side sleeper, do not buy. you are forced to rotate inside the bag and the foot box is cold and small, compressing the loft. Bad Bad Bad, able to see light through the back of this bag. Shame. purchased xlong x wide. for 6'4 male. I used this 15F rated bag in 20F weather. I had to wear terra mar expedition base layer, two jackets, gloves, and polar tech booties to stay warm. The short zipper is horrible and doesn't allow you to sit cross legged while cooking in the tent vestibule. The bag isn't wide enough.

TLDR: Too expensive for the performance offered, do not use under freezing temps or with chances of moisture, bad zipper and drawstring designs, adequate room inside. I bought a pair of these bags on sale at $200 (Regular size) for me and my brother (6’1, 214lbs, 24yo and 5’9, 135lbs, 15yo) for our backpacking trip to the palo pinto mountains. His thoughts were similar to mine so i will go off my point of view. The bag looks and feels quality, the materials feel very soft. I found the room adequate all the way through, plenty of foot room even with foot zipper closed. The i found the drawstring and zipper design to be quite poor. The zipper bottomed at about my hips and topped at about ear level. The zipper was pretty difficult to zip from the inside from hip to ear, the draft flap along it was nice but added to the difficulty. I found the easiest way was to stick my whole arm out through the face hole to zip it from the outside. The face hole design was pretty bad. There was alot of empty space just under the opening between my neck and the front of the bag, so the very shallow draft collar was negligible at best. The opening itself is quite wide and not very tall. I found myself trying to cinch it down as far as i could to try and keep the cold air away from my face. The top and bottom drawstrings only pull to one side so they cinch down very uneven. The top ended up just covering my eyes and the bottom just kind of loosely floated in the neck area. I just blocked the face hole with a beanie to fix it. The temps were at freezing or below, we woke up to some ice on our tents. The bag was decently warm most of the night, i started to feel on the colder side just before sunrise. The bag is advertised as water repellent but i would not risk it if there was even a slight chance of rain or moisture. Condensation had formed inside the rain cover of my tent (Tent issue honestly) and had dripped onto the bag here and there, most of it ran off but there were a few spots that were looking like they were starting to soak. All things considered, i think its a decent bag but i think you could definitely find better for the price, on sale or otherwise. I would not risk using this bag for anything under freezing temps or with chances of moisture. I will be returning them and getting something else.

Well took the family for their first camp out. Kids are 4,6,9,and 11. This bag is for me and the overnight low was 40. By 3:30am we were too cold and had to head home. Pretty disappointed with cold rating. I was way too cold for sleep in this. Based on their ratings I would need a -100F rated bag for 40 degrees. Sad. Would not recommend for anything under overnight lows of 55 degrees my friends. Size was great.

I am a very big guy in the world of backpacking, with that said this dual zipper is exactly what I needed. Thank you to the big guy that designed this. The ease of getting in you sleeping is greatly improved with this design

I picked this up in 2025 for a summer Sierra trip. For the sale price of about $170, it was a pretty good deal on a 15° down bag. I slept in it every night for a week above 10,000’, including several nights of thunderstorms with rain and hail. Despite other opinions on its insulation performance, it kept me decently comfortable during my entire trip — on the two coldest nights, I added a thin merino cap and was quite warm. I didn’t suffer from the down fill matting even in wet conditions. The expandable foot box is an interesting idea, but I never opened it up. I’m 5’10” and 165lbs, and the bag’s girth, head to toe, was roomy enough. The zippers worked well enough, and weren’t drafty. I did struggle in the middle of the night, messing with the pulls to get the hood to cinch down properly. Bottom line, I wouldn’t pay full price for it when better options are available in the same cost range. But I am taking it with me to the Sierra Nevada again this summer.

Used this bag for 3 years now and I absolutely love it warm and great design and its like a multi tool so many ways to sleep! 10/10 recommend

Super happy with this bag for the price. Got it on clearance and worth every penny.
