Great Product, just 1 gotcha.
So far I like the mirror very much! The thing you need to remember obviously is that if you have to lay your bicycle down on its side in a car or something or on the ground be sure to fold the mirror up and out of the way before you do so or it is very likely to pop off and get lost. Not picking on this particular mirror, I suspect that this is the case with many or most mirrors. I try never to lie my bike down, but there are times when it is unavoidable as when I had to borrow a friends hatchback. The field of vision is smaller than I am used to but it is a trade off for having a more aero and less obtrusive mirror. Solidly built, good quality.
Easy installation and strongly made.
Great bar-end mirror from the makers of Spurcycle bells ... easy to install and large enough to actually see behind me without having to wiggle around. I had their R-35 mirror previously, and while built the same, the smaller size made it more difficult to use.
Finally, a fully satisfactory bike mirror
I've been in search of the ideal bike mirror since Rhode Gear stopped making their classic model decades ago, and have been through a plethora of handlebar/helmet/sunglass models since--some pretty good, but none perfect. I've finally found what I've been looking for with the R50--it's unobtrusive, rock solid/no vibration, and has a great field of view. My only regret is that although it's ideal on my road bike, the bar-end shifters on my touring bike will prevent using it on an upcoming Portland to San Diego trip.
Improve situational awareness
While it might not be the sexiest looking bar mirror, it captures a large amount of rear landscape and truly beats any helmet mirror since the latter is useless unless you're looking straight ahead. Tilt your head down when using your drops and a helmet mirror shows the clouds!
Mirror pops out
Single pivot makes the mirror relatively stable. Mirror has popped out of its mounting more than once. Can't get it back in this time, making it useless.
Works Perfectly
Easy to install and adjust. Takes some getting use to, but exactly what I was looking for.
really nice mirror
I like this mirror for my road cycling bikes. It's the perfect size.
Not the clearest directions
Not the clearest directions. I scanned the box and went to the directions. The directions did not show the same unit I had and suggested to turn the mirror to tighten it. My mirror was on a ball and just spun inside the unit. I had to keep taking the unit out and tighten it and then put it back in. I saw another pic of the mirror removed and you insert an alen wrench into. This sounds like the better route but it doesn’t incate how to separate the mirror

I’m going to return it
I like the field of view and quality of the glass, but after it fell out 3x I have decided to return it. The mechanism for connecting the mirror to the mount is very flimsy. I don’t buy the idea that it’s a safety thing to have it fall off if the bike is just laying down in the back of your car. The other 2 times were for no apparent reason at all. A friend glued an AirTag to his mirror so he wouldn’t lose another one out on the road.
