I am pretty unimpressed with this as an “access” puffy. You’d think BD being A climbing brand would encourage the designers to include features on all of their gear that make it easier to climb in. I bought this to use while I’m belaying my partner, but it’s unusable for that. There is no bottom-up zipper that would allow you to zip it up from the bottom to provide access/clearance to the harness without needing to tuck the jacket in and lose access to the pockets. If I wanted to tuck a puffy in to belay I’d just use one of the 40 non-climbing specific puffies I already owned. No clip on the packable bag to attach to the harness for use on summits either. It’s warm but doesn’t break wind & not super functional for climbing.
Love Fig color and fit. 5’2” 110-115 bought an XS is perfect with room for a layer. Lightweight but seems it will be reasonably warm esp with layers. Has been overly cold yet. Appreciate the longer back length for keeping hips covered. Bought for general wear around town and colder hikes. Perfect replacement for my well worn 10 yr old Patagonia.
I have loved this jacket so far. It is incredibly soft and has kept me very warm so far. I got a large in order to layer beneath and have felt comfortable and not too baggy. The pockets also have a warmer material on them that is very cozy.
Great jacket for everyday wear! Lightweight without being too delicate. Enough warmth for cold days around town or out on the trail. Fits well and doesn't restrict your movement. .....and a great price!
This was a great layer for watching the Northern Lights in Finland's Lapland in March. I was so warm with this as a layer that I layer down on the ice to watch the lights!
Just purchased the Access Down Hoody and I love it! It’s very lightweight but also super warm! Great as a stand alone jacket or a mid layer on super cold days.
Fits great, warm in cold weather but also comfortable as a light weight in cool weather. Great quality
I can wear this at the crag or to a business dinner
