I've only logged a few 10k's on this shoe, but I have been happy with the fit and feel from the first footfalls, primarily on gravel and maintained trail. I write this review to point out something that wasn't apparent from the product description and pictures- the upper is all fairly large mesh.. so much so that your socks are visible through the screen. I bought the shoe thinking it looked like a trail runner for this fall/winter, as I usually don't go with waterproof options as they tend to be over-thick (IMO), and feet always end up wet anyway. This shoe is definitely a summer/desert shoe, and will be going back into the closet for the east coast fall/winter. I do plan on breaking it back out once the warm weather hits, though.
Very comfortable and add a great spring to each step but I could not get over the squeakiness of these shoes! The worst I have ever encountered. I tried to give it some time thinking that they just needed to be broken in, but it never got better. The final straw was my mistake in wearing them to a museum, it was pretty embarrassing since everything else there was fairly quiet.
I was looking for a shoe for light trail running/walking. Reviews for this shoe was very positive. I liked the look so took the dive. They're keepers.
I’m a few weeks into these shoes and love them. I have a pair of On street shoes and was a little nervous getting a trail shoe, but no regrets so far.
I love the styling and feel of this shoe but there are two things that turned me off within a couple of weeks: 1. The material is ultra thin - I didn't notice it the first time I fitted it but after a week and I wore it outside, I noticed by feet were noticeably cold. I didn't mind it until after another week when I decided to wear multi-color socks and was shocked when I looked down while I was outside - you can clearly see through the material...so there I am walking around with multi-color socks thru my shoes. I would think that an outdoor shoe would at least protect me from a little bit of cold but to now be see-through? that's a bummer. 2. The dreaded "On-Squeak"...within a couple of weeks of occassional indoor wear, the sole started squeaking...loudly. To the point that it became embarrassing to walk around in my office. I realize there's a class action lawsuit against On for this feature...a product that costs a couple hundred dollars should NOT have this defect. When I returned it,t he salesperson gaslighted me and said when a shoe starts squeaking, it's usually time to replace them...and I'm like, hello, less than a month and I'm not even a runner. This, while I was demonstrating how my current shoe I was wearing, a Cloud Runner, 6 months in had also developed the same problem...
