Great light-weight trail shoe
Very comfortable and warm, nice traction for trail walking and just the right amount of ankle support. I got them for travel bc i didn't want to bring heavy boots and they were just right. Would recommend for Hallux Rigidus; i was able to walk all day with no pain. True to size.

Painful gusset design.
I have worn Hokas for 10+ years. They are my favorite brand for the comfort and cushioning that my feet require. The engineers really missed the mark with the Transport Hike boot. There are stiff, heavy lumps at the gusset attachment on each side of the tongue. These hard lumps pressed painfully into my foot on each side. It's either poorly constructed or a bad design. I hope this issue is corrected in the future. I will be returning these. My old mid-ankle speedgoat boots have been the best, but they are worn and I need new boots. The new "mid" speedgoats are a joke with the neoprene collar, not at all like the prior ones. I hope someone at Hoka reads these reviews. I'm going to have to wear Keens.

Super comfy with plenty of toe room, kept my feet dry, and cute enough to wear around town.

I wore these for a hike today and was really impressed with how comfortable they were. My toes had plenty of room, and I didn’t have any rubbing or discomfort. I had to step through a few small creeks and puddles, and thanks to the GORE-TEX, my feet stayed completely dry. They also had great traction in the trail and felt supportive throughout the hike. And honestly I love that they’re cute enough to wear around town after the hike too! Overall, really happy with these boots and would definitely recommend them!

Another vote against the rock hard gusset material

I'm looking for a lightweight casual hiking shoe similar to the Keen NXIS and I tried on the Hoka Transport GTX in the store. I have to agree with Barbara's review about the material used for the gusset at the tongue. I am a loyal Hoka wearer and I would have bought these in the beautiful Grey Skies color except for the gusset painfully digging into the outside of my foot. It was easy to compare this flaw with similar shoes in the store which all used a softer material. I will be buying the Keen Targhee Apex shoe instead.

Perfect balance of support and flexibility

Received free product

Surprised at how comfortable these were. I usually find ankle support restrictive but I found the support to be just right. It provided enough support while still allowing some mobility in my ankles. Toe box was roomy and there was enough cushioning.

Design flaw makes them painful to wear.

I wanted to love these but as others mentioned. There is a flaw in the design of where the tongue attaches under the gusset. It is very painful on the top of the foot. I had to return them because they caused painful sores on the top of my foot.

Painful gusset seams

I love Hokas! With fused big toes, they're my only option to stay active, with the rocker bottoms and thick soles (though other companies are starting to catch on). Regular Hoka Transports are my go-to, so I assumed the hiking boot would be a match made in heaven. But I have to agree with other reviewers on the stiff, painful gusset seams. I almost returned them, but decided to see if I could break them in, or get used to them. After a few painful walks, they're bearable and I think I'll keep them, but please fix this for future models!

Great & very comfortable!!

These hiking shoes/boots are so comfortable and I cannot recommend them enough. Not sure about the reference to the seams. I don't experience that at all. Maybe it was corrected by Hoka recently.

Just right for walking in the rain

I’m 78 and had both knees replaced last year. I’m back to walking without pain but my body is definitely readjusting to its new alignment. I wanted a shoe that felt very comfortable, stable with good support and will keep my feet dry. Henn, the associate who helped me had some good suggestions. I really appreciated his advice patience.

Great shoes!

Great fit, great balance, laces stay tied well. Really like their support. I wish they had an option for elastic laces.
