I bought these boots in February of this year and they are literally falling apart. I’ve worn them maybe 10 times in the last 9 months for military training and jumping, but I can’t wear them anymore due to the sole falling off. Furthermore, if it’s wet or raining these boots have zero traction on any surface. These are the worst boots for any type of training or serious hiking. I will never buy this brand again and wish I had the receipt and box still, because I would have returned them in June after a few training events.
These shoes are trash. I officially wore them 4 times for a total of appx 30 miles w/ 10k elevation gain and 10k elevation loss (Superstition Mountains Summit 5057 twice, Picketpost once, Black Top Mesa once). The bottoms of the shoes are already falling off w/ the tread separating from the soul. I bag on Salomon for putting out worse and worse quality shoes every year and they’re one million times better than these junkers. Shame on “influencers” for lying about products and shame on Keen for putting out a product that in my opinion is garbage.
These fit my feet tighter than the targhee and are much lighter for my everyday use. Waterproof is holding up and the grip is amazing.
I really love these boots for summer hiking and wearing around out in the yard. However, after two weeks the tips have started to fray so I will be returning them. Talked with Keen as I thought they should know since it is a new design and actually as much as I love their boots there company was seemingly uninterested. (I sent them pics.) They grip really well on wet rock, Uhaul ramp and felt secure backpacking in the Catskills. Good fit like my other keens.
Overall the boot is a comfortable fit especially for light use. However, the waterproofing doesn't hold up, after a couple rainy days it wets out and soaks through in just an hour of rain, leaving moist socks pretty much every outdoor excursion through the end of winter. The sole is also incredibly soft, lacking any reasonable durability, with the tread pattern not holding up as it begins to wear. 2 months in and already spots are almost worn down completely. If you're only hiking on soft, non rock trails, in dry weather these might hold up well, but for PNW hiking and regular use these are really almost instantly need replacing.
Excellent fit and these boots are very comfortable. Hiked about ten miles in them so far and no complaints. The tread is the best Keen has put on any shoe/boot so far. A plus all around.
These hiking boots are so, so comfortable and very light!. Love the look!! The sole is very rugged and had a great look. Very satisfied!
Junk. Falling apart after only a few wears. Tongue of shoe is extremely uncomfortable on top of the foot. Gave me long lasting foot, knee, and hip pain after a back to back trip one weekend. Highly disappointed.
Super comfortable, very lightweight, but de-laminated after six nights of camping. The outside lamination peeled off after 6 total nights of light camping. Had to return. Replaced with Targhee IV’s.
Top lace lug rivet heads exposed (no padding). Rub against ankle bone. Very painful to wear on two mile trail hike.
