The Notion SPs were my go-to for many years. I'd wear them for everyday stuff, gardening, gym climbing, and tree climbing. They're quite comfortable but on the tighter side. They've held up for several (4) years of regular use and are just now starting to fray at the cuffs. Their pockets also aren't optimized for larger phones. I also own a couple pairs of regular Notions and find that those are more loose and comfortable for climbing. The regular Notions also have a zipper pocket that's large enough for bigger phones.
I really wanted to like these pants, as they seem to have good construction and I like the material. The fit just really didn't work with my body. I'm 5'9", 156 pounds, with more weight in my hips. The crotch area pulled in a very uncomfortable and unflattering way. This was the case for the medium. I also tried the size large, which fit better right out of the box, but after one wear they stretched out so much that they were sagging in a very unflattering way. Sending the medium back.
I have been searching for a new pair of climbing pants that are comfortable and fit well. I have owned previous versions of the notion SP pants and I really wanted to like these ones. They fit well but when I climb I find they pull down in the back a lot (which is incredibly uncomfortable). I wish the waist band had some sort of drawstring as the elastic band is a little lose on the waist.
Please bring back the old sp notion pants . The fit was so much better !
Perfect amount of stretch. Was hesitant about the elastic waist band, but it proved to be more effective than the usual drawstring. Love the leg pocket and it’s the perfect size for a phone. Just wish there were pockets on the butt with zippers and the front pockets were deeper
I absolutely love the fit and style of the old sp notions . Bring back the old style waistband . Would love to see more time spent on reinforcing the back pockets to prevent holes than making the wasted band where it won’t stay up .
OMG! These are my new favorite climbing pants. I seriously wish I had them in every color. The waist band is stretchy which I love because it doesn't dig into my stomach. The pants are super flattering too!
I have been trying to find organic cotton joggers for climbing and these do the trick! They fit well and have a good amount of stretch. I’ve only had them a few weeks, but so far they are holding up fine.
These stay on and stay up and allow for free movement. The fit is true to size and they look great on, and I am on the curvy side. The fabric is breathable and comfortable, even in warm weather.
Soft, comfortable, easy to move in. Provide great protection from the weather. Would recommend popping on a pair of thermals underneath in the super cold winter days but otherwise amazing.
