These are well-made boots with quality materials. However, when I walk, the heel slides up and down. The ankle area is very tight, so the boots rub after a long walk. Unfortunately, I will have to return them.
I've been wearing Vasque GTX hiking shoes and they're now my daily go - tos. Their lightweight build is amazing. I used to struggle with heavy shoes on hikes, but these make walking effortless, whether on trails or in the city. Comfort is top - notch. The soft, breathable lining keeps feet dry, and the arch - supportive insole prevents pain. The ergonomic design fits my feet perfectly, enhancing stability on various terrains. I reach for them daily, be it for errands or jogs. If you want lightweight, comfortable, and ergonomic shoes, these are a great pick!
I generally like these shoes but I can’t stand how the tongue slides down all the time. I’m not sure if this is common to these shoes or a defective pair. The cushion seems adequate. I haven’t taken them into the wet yet to test the waterproofing.
I have narrow heels and I don’t have any heel slipping. They are a narrower shoe. They’re the only thing helping my plantar fasciitis and they are truly waterproof. I’m looking at getting more!
Stiff shoe with heel slippage. Tried smaller size, still had heel slippage. Bummed because these are a good color and style for hiking shoes and are waterproof. Ended up returning them.
I love Vasque shoes and boots! Quality construction and so very comfortable! I am really bummed they have gone out of business.
I bought these for a trip to Costa Rica. Wore them the entire time unless I was at the beach and they were great! I had also purchased some keen sandals which I didn’t find nearly as comfortable as these. I really like this brand. I have the higher non waterproof hiking boot as well. I tend to do 10-14 mile hikes with quite the elevation gain and my feet don’t complain.
If I could give these zero stars I would. They are very narrow. The heel has a padding around the inside of it and that is awkward and uncomfortable. They run at least a size small. Material is very stiff and the cushioning just isn’t there. Run the other directions on these. Thankfully REI has an excellent return policy.
Very comfortable and did not have to break them in on the first try . Super light & forgot they’re hiking shoes & could be worn everyday
I bought these shoes to have waterproof hiking shoes that look good enough in the city, and these are perfect. I was out in the rain for several days and my feet stayed dry. They don't breathe as well as non-waterproof shoes, but it's worth it to stay dry in the rain. Other reviews that mentioned that these are stiff and have heel slippage are correct, but I hardly notice this. I can walk all day in these shoes and not have tired feet.
