Reactor stove is rick solid

Reactor stove is rick solid and this larger volume pot speeds up coffee for a crew of 4 and any needs for melting snow for water

I own the 1 liter

I own the 1 liter and 2 liter pots. They are lightweight and fit a small or large fuel canister inside with the stove (based on what pot I take). The lid has held up well being tossed in my pack. The only issue I have had is that the handle sometimes comes off when opening it, but it can be easily reattached.

I purchased the reactor 1. 7L

I purchased the reactor 1. 7L stove and pot in 2008 (17 years ago). It has been on every camping trip since and took a beating. My favourite use was making several pots of morning coffee for my friends or myself on countless solo trips. The frustrating aspect of the original model was that the handle on the pot would “pop off” making for a serious boiled water burn risk. The handle became more and more unreliable over time. Eventually MSR put out a safety recall for the pot handle. Their very poor cure - a clamping potlifter was mailed out after you applied. In my option this was a very cheep cop out by MSR (Cascade Design). There was several concerns I had with this resolve. 1) You hand to keep using the original handle to securely close the pot lid for transport. 2) it did not store in the pot with the stove and canister 3) and most importantly - it remained a mayor safety risk as you still had to use the original “pop off” handle when taking the pot off the stove when using while using the MSR Reactor coffee filter. In the end, I tried to jerry rig the original handle to prevent it from becoming loose. This resulted in making the pot unusable. thus, I purchased a the new MSR reactor 1. 7L pot. They resolved the popping off issue - same pot otherwise. Basically, I am back to loving the the original system without the frustration and safety concerns of the loose handle. Beauty work Cascade Design. On an off note…. If a new 1. 7L pot is designed in the future, making it a smidgen taller to allow storage of the coffee filter would be an absolute bonus. (Alternatively, widening and shorting the fuel canister!!) just a thought
