Fatal design flaw leads to leaks
I’ve had good luck with using the old version of the GSI Outdoors water cubes, and this new version seemed to offer a better way to clean them with the addition of the wide mouthed opening with the blue screw top. However, the only handle these cubes now have is the one on the blue screw cap. When the water cube is full and I would go to move them using the handle, the weight of the water in the cube deforms the seal the plastic threads make with the cap and allows the cube to leak a significant amount. This was true of both of the two cubes that I purchased, and I can only imagine the problem would get worse over time. I returned them and can’t recommend anyone purchase this design.

Great lil purchase for camping and backpacking! I just hook it to the outside of my backpack, and once I get to a campsite with a water source, I fill it up and filter directly from the water cube! This has been a game changer while camping for easy access to water throughout the day/night! Also it's super light, and can be condensed down. I use a hose and attach it to a life straw for an easy filtration tap line using gravity to keep the water flowing. 10/10!
Basecamp Essential
This is our base camp essential. When camping we fill this thing up, throw it in our camp trailer and have fresh water for the entire weekend. Spout works great and folds down when empty.

Used once. Leaked along the seam on the bottom. It was a mess. Only plus side is we once washed it once before going and the water didn’t taste plasticky

EAsy to fill. Spigot will be the failure point like on the last one. They need to have a repalcement spigot available.
