Very Stylish, Protective, and Versatile
The Solano is extremely stylish and fantastic for city usage. I bought it a few months ago because I was looking for a durable yet lightweight, mildly insulated windbreaker that could handle changing conditions. Most windbreakers are thin and unattractive, but the Solano is perfect. Its sleek, protective, not too warm or cold, and it packs down into nothing. The nylon lining is really soft and comfortable and I love how versatile the styling is. Its got deep hand pockets for windy days and the hybrid construction makes it breathable under the arms. The sleeves are a bit long but I personally like that for the articulation. Waterproofing is okay but the DWR does get weak pretty fast. Overall its my favorite jacket from Arc and I wear it nearly every day! Its great for temps between 45-70°.
Highly recommended for its intended use
The Solano sells on its good looks -- and that's a compliment. It's obviously not intended for hard workouts but I'd be pleased to wear it around town or to social events. The highish collar, the inside pocket and the overall light weight are strong points. I'd like to see some kind of venting in the sleeves or arm pit. And the sleeve cutffs aren't strong enough if the longish sleeves prove too long for you. Not perfect, but highly recommended for its intended use.
Great with suggestions
Great jacket for lighter days. Only complaint is sleeves are too long so a trip to alterations was necessary. The stretchy sleeve for such a high quality jacket really need to be re-thought. This is the 4th jacket I have bought over years and would have preferred sleeves that could be tightened around wrist!
