Love it even more than Float Coat
Love it even more then the float coat!
We've been a big fan of the Ruffwear Float Coat for the last decade with three kayaking dogs wearing them nearly every week. I was excited when I saw the Confluence Life Vest because it addressed the things we weren't crazy about with the float coat. The open sides allow for more freedom of movement and airflow. The over the head and under chest helps distribute weight evenly when using the sturdy handle to haul dogs back into the boat. The 'hidden' handle at the top back of the vest gives you a second place to lift from to help support the heck end a bit better. My 52 lb Saber fits great into a medium. She even stopped parking while swimming and just floated for a bit.
A great life vest for dogs who can swim
Fits well and allows the freedom of movement my pup needs when swimming. It provides floatation in such a way that her normal swimming position is not inhibited. I have the Ruffwear previous model life vest and like it a lot. I think this is better for dogs who know how to swim and swim well, while the other suits dogs who are less comfortable in the water or may, for whatever reason, such as age, need the extra support in positioning.
Good fit
Size M fits good on my 4 months old Husky, has room to grow, she's 30lbs and 24inch in chest. Material quality is always good from this brand. Snug fit will make it easy to pull her out the water. Did not test it yet on water.
