The mini water filter worked great with the Cnoc outdoor water bags because of the 28 mm threat. I use the mini filter on a backpacking trip to filter lake water and it worked great draining into the collection bag. After the trip I backed washed the mini and a light brown color came out after one plunge of distilled water. Proof that it worked for me.
I got this 2 pack dual threaded water, filtration system to go on a 6 day through hike with my wife. We just threaded them on to Smart Water bottles and had one clean and one dirty bottle. The filter does the rest with gravity. You just scoop up some river water in the dirty bottle, thread on the filter to the dirty bottle then just thread the other clean bottle on the other side of the filter and tip upside down. The dirty water filters through the filter and fills the clean bottle with clean water. These filters help prevent you from getting any disease or having any stomach issues from drinking bad water. We even brought lemonade packets to mix with the clean water and it tasted great.
The flow rate is just as good as my Sawyer Squeeze, which is impressive for such a small unit. So, the bottom line is - works as well as the Squeeze (though probably needs back flushing more often) and works exactly the same as the Squeeze (if you get the dual threaded version). BUT... it's small and comes in (on my scale) at a little less than half the weight. Win, win, win.
I usually do section hikes, that said, it’s always nice to have a spare filter! Just in case something happens. These have always kept me healthy and safe. Not only that, if I run across someone in need of some help,I would be able to them with my spare water filter. It’s always good to pay it forward .
Super easy to use — just screw onto a plastic water bottle. We didn’t die or get sick, so I guess they worked correctly! All kidding aside, we’ve used these many times and they are literally life savers!
Bought this for a trip to Europe and it works great! This along with the collapse bag are ideal for situations where you are skeptical of the water source. I now have 3 sawyer filters!
Only a few hours of trouble-free use, then stopped flowing water despite back-flushing as directed. Previous Sawyer filter had same problem and didn’t respond to hot water and vinegar back flushing. Needs to be much better.
Exactly what you expect from Sawyer, great flow rate easy to use and dependable
