So far I'm very pleased with this bag and it seems like it will do good in lower temps, but so far only went about 35°. Only issue is i wish is packed down smaller, it is massive and took up the majority of my 65 L bag even when in a compression sack.
I have a few very cold nights under my belt and wanted to give my 2 cents (for what it's worth) on this sleeping bag. My first criticism of this bag, as others have noted, is it's pack down size. It is a BIG sleeping bag. It also weighs a fair amount. I went for a couple nights with a 60+5 liter backpack and it barely fit. The first night it was about 7 degrees F which, based on Mammut's website, is the comfort rating but it felt JUST under comfortable. I slept with my base layers on only but my downfall was my sleeping pad with a rating of only 3.6R. The next trip, I took a much warmer sleeping pad at 8.5, and at night the temperature got down to about 8 degrees F. Even with the warmer sleeping pad, I slept with not only my base layers on, but also a puffy jacket. I felt warm enough, but with what I was wearing in the sleeping bag, I feel it should have slept a lot warmer then it did. The zipper baffle let in some cold air and could use a bigger baffle. Otherwise, it is still a very quality sleeping bag, I love the magnetic clasp at the neck and with a summer rated down quilt for layering, I believe this bag can handle much more than I threw at it.
