Have all our grandchildren Lifestraws

Have all our grandchildren Lifestraws as part of their Christmas. Three of our grandsons immediately ran out to our pond to try them out. They declared the water tasted fine. :joy:

Second time the charm

The LifeStraw works as advertised. instead of schlepping water bottles. Very pleased. If I had one suggestion for LifeStraw it would be regarding the directions. It's VERY important that you follow the directions (which could be a bit clearer). #1 - it's imperitive that you put the LifeStraw in the water for 10 seconds before you start sucking on it. Stand it up in the water LIKE A STRAW IN A DRINK - all but the top inch. It HAS TO saturate for a few seconds. Then, #2. Take five small sips to "prime the pump". THEN - and only then - will it work like a champ!

Very useful!

Love this thing! Me and my friends went camping and the well had water full of rust. We filled up gallon jugs and used a inner tube to seal the gap between the Life-straw and the mouth of the jug and made a hour glass contraption with the dirty water on top, and the clean would go through the filter and into the empty bottom jug. We filtered at least 8 or 9 gallons this way. A few weeks later and everyone is perfectly fine. I highly recommend this product. (Make sure you clean it regularly when filtering lots of water. Usually every two gallons or so.)

Filter pitcher and collapsible squeeze "bottle"

the pitcher is a wonderful product.... have purchased them for my Illinois and Wisconsin homes. Have also leaned on my (adult) children to do the same for themselves. As well as for my health conscious Office Manager. I also purchased for my youngest son your 1L Peak Series Collapsible Squeeze: in 2 weeks he'll be backpacking in Yosemite, and it's the perfect solution to quickly being able to fill his personal Nagene bottle, and filtering water for cooking meals for 4; Sorry it took me as long as it did to find you.

Packaging

Have not had reason to try yet. Bought in case of emergency. One straw came in an enclosed package as opposed to the others which were in cardboard holders and exposed to the elements. I do not understand why there is a difference in the packaging but I would prefer they all were in an enclosed package which in my mind keeps them clean and sterile until I actually need to use. This to me is better for long term storage since they supposedly do not have a shelf life.

Works for me

I love this pitcher! The filtration provides me with easy access to tap water. I have had a rare infection that is associated with tap water - I know go figure. This is my backup quick source of water, otherwise, I boil water for 10 minutes before drinking. The pitcher is easy to clean and to change filters. I have been using this pitcher and other LifeStraw products (Go Water Bottle and Peak Filter) for a couple of years now and they are life-changing for me.

This Product Saved my Dog’s Life

I tried it in the brackish water and my thirst was quenched to the highest degree. It saved my dog, Rico’s life by being able to fill up a bucket we found in the junkyard on our walk and Rico drank out of the straw. It was kind of weird touching the same straw that my doggy dog just touched by I’m finally hydrated after 6 long years! I’m so happy to bring this into work and have my co-workers use it while we stay bustin’ in our 9-5. God bless LifeStraw.

Water bottle didn't work from the first try/ worst customer

I bought a lifestraw water bottle over a year ago but never had a chance to use it. Finally I got to use it....I COULDN'T SUCK WATER THRU IT. I tried everything. When I emailed them for a replacement (maybe I got a dud?) They replied that it needed to be within a year BUT the bottle lasts for years??? A COMPANY NOT WILLING TO BACK THEIR PRODUCT??? U LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER. I will definitely be telling people about my experience.

Why I'm NOT a fan of LifeStraw.

I have been corresponding with Brenda about the issues I'm having with your product. Whereas it worked fine for the first week or so, I am having significant problems with the filter that is part of the unit. Within a week or two of using it daily on my hikes, it becomes very difficult to draw water from the unit. I use the backwash unit daily, and at Brenda's suggestion have also started soaking the filter for 10 minutes per day, which helps.....but only for a day or two. Brenda sent me a replacement filter, but the issue remains the same. AT this point I'm very disappointed in your product. I also mentioned to Brenda that you name, which is printed in white on the side of the bag has now almost totally worn off....in less than three months, which does NOT have anything to do with the malfunction of the unit, but seems odd given that the unit is either in my backpack or sitting in the refrigerator.

My wife and I have been using life straw for years. We do a lot of camping and hiking and overlanding. These small peak series are amazing. I’m an environmental engineer and my wife is a medical student. This have 1000% exceeded my expectations. Will continue to purchase and recommend to everyone I can. Thanks for the amazing products. Keep up the good work.
