Coleman  Skylodge 6-Person Instant Camping Tent

We purchased this tent last June with the intention of using it for camping this year. The tent initially performed really well during our camping trip in the Adirondacks this past August, but unfortunately, one of the poles snapped after our first and only use. We reached out to Coleman to see what they could do, given that this was essentially a brand-new tent that had only been used once. Unfortunately, the customer service experience has been extremely disappointing. We have also since found multiple reports from other customers experiencing similar pole and structural failures with this tent. For the price, I expected much better durability from Coleman. A tent should be able to withstand more than a single camping trip, and it is incredibly frustrating to spend money on a product that fails after its first use. Extremely disappointed. I would recommend looking at other options if you intend to actually use your tent for camping.

We used it for our Easter this year so they could open their baskets in it and just hang out in the shade. It was super easy to set up, maybe took us 5 minutes and I think it only took that long cause it was windy. It’s super sturdy and high quality. I love the extra touch of the door mat and awning near the entrance. The ventilation was top notch as well. It was super hot the day we set it up, but because of the windows and doors being open it felt great. Highly recommend this tent for your family. I know we’ll be using it quite often this summer.

It has locking tabs on the main supports that slide out and click into place, making it much easier to assemble than other tents we’ve used. It has additional pieces to anchor it to the ground and comes with a rain fly. There are zippers on two sides to allow easy entry and windows on all sides, along with openings at the top for ventilation. It has two pockets on the inside to hold items. In my opinion, it might be a tight squeeze for 6 people, but 4 people would fit comfortably.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was easy to unpack and wasn't too hard putting it up but it already has 2 small holes in it which really sucks (one on the bottom and one in the side). I didn't set all the accessories up yet as I don't plan on actually camping until the summer. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to take it down but once you do it, it is easy.

Has a convenient carrying case. The instructions are attached to the carrying case. The kids were able to stand up in it. Very easy to put together.

Ventilation is great, keeping the interior fresh, and the durable materials hold up well against the elements. It’s also surprisingly portable for its size. It’s a reliable and comfortable tent!

My 4 year old has been asking to tent camp and the excitement when this arrived at our house was amazing. The tent is super portable which I love especially when traveling with littles. The assembly of the tent is super simple! Another perk when with littles and their short patience. The red poles for the front and back rain guards are not explained in the directions, and it took me googling a few videos to figure out where they go. The tent is well ventilated and is spacious. We haven’t used it in bad weather yet, but the bottom of the tent seems to be able to hold up well to rain. Disassembling the tent was very easy too even by myself. The storage bag is forgiving to how well it’s rolled up, but with some practice I think I can get better at it and not have the bag as lopsided.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Highly recommend for beginners! I set it up myself and I’m a petite 5’4” lady. It literally packs up so well and then there’s an arm strap to easily carry it. It has good ventilation and it has 2 exit points as well as 2 windows for additional ventilation. It came with a waterproof top which was easy to put on as well and seemed to do well. There was only light rain when we used this so I can speak about its durability in rough weather.

It took me 8 minutes to figure it out but now that I know how, I bet I could do it in one minute minus putting on the rain top. I love that it has two doors and two “windows”. It has some nets to store things so I imagine my phone would be easily found which is amazing. Extending the poles is really easy and so is clicking the button to break the tent back down. The rain top is marked with a red hook so you know how it goes it. I put a picture of this up. I did this in 12 minutes total. To put the tent into the ground would take a few more minutes of course but this is way easier than other tents I’ve seen put up in real life and in movies/shows. The material seems amazing minus a few flaws in the net. There’s a lot of headspace in this tent and space in general. I recommend this to everyone that wants a nice and easy good sized tent.
