This pack is OK. The backpack is nice. I received a rust-colored orange one instead of the blue. I wish they had more color choices, as I'm not a big fan of either of the available colors. I also wish the bladder was in the pouch furthest from my back instead of adjacent to my back, so it didn't get warm. It would also be great if the bladder we able to go in the dishwasher, because I worry about being able to adequately clean the inside between uses. The straw tube is great though. I wish the top of the backpack was a zipper instead of a drawstring also, but that's just a personal preference. Overall, this hydration pack gets the job done, is lightweight and easy to use. It would be really amazing though if the bladder were made of more durable material that was easier to clean.
Likes.. Size is roomy for daypack essentials. I enjoy my hammock to get R&R when on an adventure. Fit is ok, not perfect with summer clothing. May fit better in the fall with bulky clothing. Water bladder.. Has a nice hook to hang in pack. Has a quick release to take out of pack to fill. Is separated from main gear compartment. Magnetic clip is a nice feature, wish it was centered instead of off to the side. Secret bottom side pocket is roomy for small items, wallet, toiletry items, etc... Brain is roomy, I use it for snacks and small 1st aid kit. Was caught in a downpour raining, pack is waterproof. Pack has 4 reflective loops, I will add bungee cord there. Great place to put wet rain gear. Dislikes Water bladder.. - Tubing at top of pack received kinked - Bladder makes water taste like plastic, may change over time.. Mesh on back of pack tears easily, received with 2 small tears. Improvements Back of pack would be nice to have Removable seat pad. All in all I really do like this pack it is a nice orange color, perfect for Fall hiking & biking rail to trails, I feel safer hiking during hunting season, hunters note the orange color.
This is a great day pack with hydration bladder included. This pack is a simple design with 1 main stash area, 1 mesh pocket, 1 top lid zippered pocket, and 1 side zippered pocket. If you need to carry additional gear, there are 4 sturdy straps to carabiner or elastic cord some lighter items on the outside. The main item that I enjoy is the bladder system with a sturdy hook to easily install and remove the bladder from inside the bag along with the magnetic clip on the chest strap. I can't recommend the magnetic clip enough for easy access to water on the hike. This is a plus size there is extra room in the straps for the plus size individual. I am 5'11" 210+ so I probably could have gotten the normal sizing, but having the extra room for the straps was nice. I have had the product for a couple weeks now and taken it on several short hikes (<5 miles) and it holds up great. The orange color is perfect for fall hikes and will be a stable for hikes to come.
This is a great little hiking/rucking bag. The water bladder is nicely sized and positioned in its own compartment. The back padding is super comfortable and the whole thing is very light. Only draw back I see is the chest strap. I like that is has the magnet for the water tube but it is in a weird place. I either had to wear the strap really low to use the magnet how I wanted or wear it where I wanted it but the mouthpiece dangled far away from my body. If the magnet was a separate slider would have been much better
Thus far I have taken this bag out on three different occasions. The first trip was a seven mile hike and the second trip the bag was used for rock climbing purposes. On the third test I took the bag out on a 15 mile sustained hike. To make a long story short I will say this bag is excellent and does exactly what it describes, and I love the orange color mine came in. Now for the details. Hands down the most favorite feature of mine on this bag is the stealth pocket on the side that can be easily accessed without taking off the bag. I found this feature to be very beneficial after I started using it and haven't seen it on other bags. The materials has held up well and I am left with the impression it can survive many trips to come With this being an 18 litter bag there are things you need to expect and that's going to be smaller waistbands and smaller straps. This bag works well for a full day hike and can carry everything you should need, including room for extra (as long as you're smart about what you bring, a smaller size can force you to think) Over the course of 15 miles I found that at no point did the bag become uncomfortable, it felt like a natural extension of my back and my feet hurt if anything. It should be noted this bag comes with a 3L Hydro pouch and it's a unique one because it comes with a detachable hose that I really ended up liking. The Hydro pouch has a dedicated spot inside the bag and secures extremely easy and the entire process is quite easy and simple. It integrates well into the bag and provided enough water for my entire hike. The only thing negative I can think to say is my back did get quite sweaty at times, but it could have been worse and I'm not aware of a bag that I've ever used I didn't sweat in. Overall I recommend the bag and I believe the best use would be for a full day hike or just a quick stroll it can do all those jobs quite well. It would probably be more versatile to buy this bag if you enjoy both long and short hikes. One last thing I'd like to note is I used this so far in the summer, as it gets colder closer to winter you may want to use a 25L just in case you need extra clothing
Perfect size, we bought 2 for traveling and day hiking.
This pack is great for light-weigh, on-the-fly, and daily use. I've been testing it with various loads for short travel (overnight), longer walks, and short hikes. One of the very best features is the right-hand compartment for a wallet or phone. This compartment allows access to those smaller and often-used items without having to remove the pack. The hydration bladder is the perfect size in order to stay on a quick pace for shorter distances without having to carry too much water. This keeps the pack light without having to sacrifice speed for weight. Additionally, the hose and bite valve can come down either the right or left shoulder strap to be held securely to either side. The hydration bite valve and attachments are not quite as ambidextrous as the hose placement. The right side has a hose clip that allows the hose to remain in place while the left side has a magnetic attachment allowing the bite valve to clip to the chest strap connector on the left. My personal preference would be to have a hose clamp on both sides rather than a single side to keep the water filled hose from flopping around. Straps are snug and secure and the plus size fit provides for use with larger torso people or those that require the additional strap. The addition of some excess strap management would be helpful for times when a waist strap is not needed and for excess shoulder strap that is not needed so long lengths of strap are not freely hanging. Overall, I love this pack and it's features. I would have preferred the blue over the orange color but even that is not terrible.
I've never used a hydration pack before so I was very curious about how I'd like it. This pack has a number of really cool features. The hydration sack itself is really thick, has liter markings (holds 3 L), and has a quick release to the sipping tube. There's a front pocket that's really roomy and easily held my lunch. Also two smaller zipper pockets for keys and a small purse. There's also a mesh side pocket that's deep enough to securely hold a wide mouth flask. All in all I was really happy with it! It was very comfortable to wear and the chest strap had a magnetic clip instead of the usual clasp.
Overall, I like the backpack and it's designed to fit larger/broader chests for plus size folks. I took it on a few hikes in hot weather and it felt comfortable, loaded with maybe 20lbs of gear to test it out. My biggest complaint is the waist strap. It's thin and I needed most of the length to accommodate my waist, as a 2X person. The pack is supposed to fit bodies up to 6X. Anyone larger than me will either need to forgo using the waist strap, or purchase extensions.
Lightweight day pack with thoughtful design and hydro feature. Great easy access outside pockets and clips, plus breathable mesh backing. The color is more rust than red rock, which is not my vibe but I love how lightweight it is and how the curved straps have padding. Plenty of places to clip on things you want to keep handy. Just enough pockets to be organized/not so many that you forget where you put things. The zipper pulls are super clever - you can just loop in your finger to pull the zipper. All in all a great design for a versatile pack.
