micro plastics from bag interior
I have an REI sleeping bag and an REI bag for the sleeping bag. After several years of not using the sleeping bag I needed it recently. I open up the bag and pull out the sleeping bag to find hundreds of black micro plastic pieces from the inside of the storage bag that had pulled away from the bag itself leaving my sleeping bag and the floor all covered in these small tiny black plastic pieces. Bag states it was made in China so who knows what this material is and if it is toxic when not attached to the interior of the bag where it is supposed to stay. I have been an REI member for 35 yrs and have never had problems till this happened. Such poor quality material.
Great storage for sleeping bags and gear!
These bags are designed for long term storage of high quality sleeping bags, down and otherwise. They are perfect for this. Big enough with much webbing to allow good breathing, avoiding moldering. I also use them to loosely stuff bivy sacks, ground clothes, ultralight tarps and tents and the like, again keeping them dry and free of moisture related degradation. Good cinche tie. I have several, and they great for keeping adventure gear in good shape between trips- Note these are not for actual backpacking trips; one would need a dedicated stuff bag for that.
It does what it says it does
It’s a mesh stuff sack meant to store your sleeping bag and protect it from getting damaged. It’s pretty simple stuff. Works great! But too pricey tho
Good quality
Good quality and I appreciate that it is at least half mesh, so the sleeping bag can "breathe" to dry out.
Waaay too big
I bought this to replace the bag that came with my REI sleeping bag and this is HUGE. It could easily fit 2 sleeping bags with room to spare. It’s silly how big this is and it’s a mesh bag, not like the picture.
