Great Shirts for heat, sweat and casual style
I have two of these, and love both of them. The two shirts differ very slightly in details, but that is because they come from the last two seasons. I have a pale green and a blue-gray, and they are "quiet" colors, blending well with other blue and green colors, and not making a bold announcement. I wear XXL since I am a pudgy, 5'11'' and 250 pounds, and the shirts' fit is relaxed but not baggy, and the sleeves are easily mid-back of hand. (I wear a 36" sleeve.) The shirts do an excellent job of shading me from the sun, and keeping me dry in the heat. I wore these shirts last week in 80's and 90's while hiking along the rim of the Grand Canyon, and the evaporative cooling really helped. The fabric feels soft and silky against my skin, is stretchy, and appears to be robust. So far, after regular use for a month, there is no pilling, even under my day pack. These are heavy shirts by weight, much more so than typical SPF 15 - 20 t-shirts, but comparable to the weight of most recent SPF 50 sun shirts. The quality of the stitching and the zippers is excellent. The thumb holes are designed to minimize unraveling. The shirt has a short collar and no hood, both of which I prefer. NRS does not make lots of styles, but they do make high quality. Get one of these shirts, you will be glad you did!
