I have used the Fly Creek UL1 for years and it worked great but I prefer having a side entrance vs the Fly Creek's bivy style front entrance. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Tiger Wall as an upgrade and it is a really nice improvement. My Fly Creek was quite a few years old with over 2000 miles of backpacking and was still in great condition, just needed some seam sealer and had a couple of tent poles replaced over the years. The Tiger Wall fabric does feel significantly thinner but hasn't had any issues in some short trips I've taken it on so far. I do use a footprint and might be worried about the possibility of a puncture otherwise, but overall extremely happy with my new tent.
I purchased the UL1 for a hike on the John Muir Trail in 2022 and it's been my go-to tent ever since. It is so much lighter than my previous tent, which was what I needed for the strenuous hike I'd planned. But I was incredibly pleased by how versatile and big inside Agnes is. The pockets are perfect for holding nightly needs, plus the hammock pocket is great for yesterday's sock drying and other stashed stuff. There are loops inside, so other damp items can be hung. In 3 years of use, I've never had a problem with condensation inside the tent, and it's been with from Yosemite to Virginia.
I have been a Tiger Wall fan for several years, and the 2025 version has some great improvements but has also kept the features that made is such a good BP tent. The rubber inset points for the poles, especially the horizontal top pole are easy to use, and the mesh also seems to be better quality. I'm glad the interior pockets have remained the same. Their size and location make it very easy to stow gear. The tent must be properly set up in strong winds, including the velcro on the fly that is easy to overlook. That makes it quite sturdy in strong wind for a lightweight 3-season tent.
I have many tents over the years and the Tiger Wall is hands down my favorite. I like to backpack for extended periods during the summer months but also for one nighters that involve photography or skiing, meaning I have lots of gear. This tent, with its large vestibule and tall corners has tons of room for all my extras. And due to it being seriously light, I don't feel so bad about bringing all the extras. The TW is also really easy to put up with a single pole and precut guy lines and color coordinated snaps. The feature I love most is the side door which makes for easier access and a comfortable and safe place to cook in inclement weather. Highly recommended!
I've just spent a month on the trail and my Tiger Wall UL1 performed very reliably--one great little tent. It helps to have good staking space to get the non-freestanding end set up squarely, but otherwise it goes up incredibly easily, and all of the connection points are very solid. I'd prefer storage pockets on each side of the tent instead of overhead. My arms are short and don't reach the overhead pockets easily when I'm lying down--also the overhead pockets seem to catch every little bit of dirt! It's a small detail. If the small loop for holding back the fly were a tad longer, it would be easier to reach around and release without having to stick your head out. But again, these are all small details. My pack and boots all fit under the vestibule, and everything stayed dry in pouring rain. This is my second BA tent, and is another quality BA product.
I love my latest Tiger Wall tent. The pockets on the inside make it easy to keep gear organized and there's just the right amount of space for me. The new bag system for holding the tent/fly/stakes is very handy and weighs next to nothing. In recent strong winds, the Tiger Wall held its own, but there was nerve-wracking torquing when the wind direction changed and it was being hit almost broadside--I learned the importance of attaching the velcro on underside of the fly! The wind also caused the line on the back of the tent to come off of the stake--though the idea is good, the supplied stake does not have sufficient cutout to hold the line in wind. The zippers are the most challenging part of this tent--they can't be counted on to run smoothly and require real concentration to open and close. Overall, the Tiger Wall is a terrific lightweight tent at a very reasonable price.
Used for three backcountry trips in three years. During two of the trips, two of the plastic grommets where poles insert into the tent corners broke. Additionally the fly zipper is jacked up (that's on me probably hastily getting up in the middle of the night). Not happy with the quality.
Used this on a one week Summer trip through Evolution Valley. Most above 9500ft. Was light, easy to set up and take down and was nice to see out when I didn't have the fly on. LOVE IT! Is like the third item I have from Big Agnes.
I have used my 1 person tiger wall for many backlighting trips. It's roomy for a 1 person tent with lots of head space and pockets for storage. I was very pleased with it for my 10-day Wonderland Trail backpacking adventure.
I'm a hunter. I usually use this tent for late summer scouting and then in fall conditions from 70 down to 20f. Lots of weather at times including wind, rain, and snow. I have been shocked how durable and reliable this tend has been. Not on rip, leak, or hole yet in 5 seasons and approx 40 nites. I'm 5'10 190ish and I fit perfectly inside, along with clothes and rifle, and my pack and boots stay dry in vestibule. Barely over 2lbs and easily straps outside pack when I need space inside. I have experienced 5"" of snow, probably 40mph winds and .5"" of overnight rain without failures. I believe I've pushed its limits, and I do knock off snow regularly, add a tarp sometimes, etc, but at this weight those things are worth it.
