Expect only a handful of trips.
Used the sea to summit twice while camping, both times on top of a blanket, inside a tent, open it up the third time and it has a hole... the patches that come with it do not stretch so they will fail after you roll it back up. An incredible waste of money, might as well have gotten a cheep plastic one.
good comfort, but narrow
I picked up this pad about a year ago and have used it a hand full of times and most recently on a multi day backpacking trip. I value comfortable sleep systems over weight/size. The pad is very comfortable. Backs down well, may be a bit too bulky for some backpackers but I didn’t mind. Only complaint is I would prefer it to be a bit more wide in hips area or have elevated corners to keep me more in place during sleep. Overall very happy with this sleeping pad and i think it would work well for most casual backpackers that value good sleep like myself.
Great job
Read the instructions first! LOL. They suggest you let the pad inflate and let it sit for twenty four hours before actually using it. NOPE, not me. Wasn’t thinking and just assumed. Long story short. I let sit for two hours and then used it. I was overly impressed. I’m a side sleeper and this affects my hips on a firm surface or mattress. I didn’t ache or have any issues. I highly recommend this pad.
very comfortable and durable!
beyond comfortable and durable. I have used this pad four times in the last 5 weeks and its been great every time!!
4Runner comfort
When my ole kicks me out of the house I grab this mat and chuck it in the back of the 4Runner. 72” long fits nicely diagonally in the back with the seats down. Comfort and drama free (unlike the ole lady)
What’s the Point?
Never inflated. Left it flat and in the inflate mode for 2 days. It’s less than an inch thick and hard as the floor.
Comfortable but so narrow
Used this once, it’s super comfortable for what it is, but it’s SO narrow. Looking for the RW version next. Had to return because was hard to move while sleeping. I’m 5”8 and 175 pounds
Good quality stuff
Very comfortable and good quality products
Terrible for durability
We bought these sleeping pads a couple years ago for camping 2-3x/year. We have used them a total of maybe 4-5 times and both pads have leaks that cannot be repaired. They don’t last which is so disappointing due to their price point. They were recommended to us by an REI employee. Don’t buy - not worth your money!
Comfortable and warm
The foam core technology provides for superior comfort and (I think) better warmth retention, than inflatable pads with similar r-values. It’s tapered design can be less comfortable if you move around a lot, and it’s a little heavy for longer/faster hikes. Overall GREAT pad, useful for most camping.
