I was looking for a higher fill puffy jacket for colder days and couldn’t be happier with my pink Hometown Jacket. It’s super warm and wind resistant, I love the fleece lined pockets, and the hood is fantastic to help hold in heat. I recently took it to Finland and it kept me warm in all kinds of winder environments (sunny and frigid plus windy and snowy). And the best part is, it packs down quite small so it doesn’t take up TOO much space!
This jacket is so warm! It’s very soft and lightweight while feeling very lush. The pockets are a soft fleece that keeps my hands warm. And it has inside pockets too. A shell over it makes it work in any north east winter weather.
This is the perfect jacket! I have a lot of jackets, but I continue reaching for this one because it is lightweight, yet has such good warmth for varying temperatures. The inside is cozy, and the sleeve cuffs are slightly angled which gives it nice coverage. It is a nice touch. My only gripe about the jacket is that it stains easily. I would buy this jacket in another color in a heartbeat, but I feel like this is an improvement area. I purchased the Aubergine in a size XS. I am 5'4, 115 lbs. I can wear a larger crew neck sweatshirt underneath without it feeling bulky.
It's got a sheen to the fabric. At first I bought the salmon color in small and the honey color in medium. I'm 5'3 weigh 145lbs. The medium was more comfortable, but the overall fit of the small was more flattering. The salmon color is really pretty and if I could afford 2 I would have kept both. In the end I sent both back as I like the honey a little more and got lucky that they had a couple smalls come back in stock so I grabbed one. I love it! So comfortable and fits well. If you want to fit sweaters under then go for the medium, but I like the fitted look and usually just wearing base layers. I like the fit and pockets. The fitted cuffs are stylish and appreciate the slight longer fit on teh top end of sleeve. Nice detail. Very flattering.
I loved the feel and fit of this puffer. It was so soft, very light, shorter sleeve than other brands, hits at the hip for me, no sound during wear. I wanted to invest in a puffer I can wear over my short sleeve pjs when I take my dogs out for a walk in 30-40s weather. When I did, it was not warm enough! My arms were so cold and I don’t even get cold easily. I think this is suitable for more outdoor activities with a longer sleeve(s) underneath.
Needed a warmer layer for backcountry skiing and after much research settled on the Hometown. I am very happy with this purchase. Worked well in heavy winds with temps in the teens and overall felt cozy. I like the hood fit, drawstrings, and longer wrists. It packs down well enough to stuff in a pack. The navy color looks sharp and I'm looking forward to wearing it next season. I'm just under 5'4" with an average build and small fits well.
The Good news: the jacket is warm, fits well and the flannel lined pockets are nice. The inside pocket on the right is low and well-placed. The Bad news: I bought the navy blue and didn't like the wide white trim when the collar is laid open. It detracts. I love/require inside pockets, but what compelled them to put an inside pocket over a woman's left breast? Seriously bad choice. I'm debating about whether to return. . .
I’ve got a lot of down jackets, and this one is my favorite, by far. It’s cozy, really warm, great pockets, fits perfectly, the color is amazing, and I wear it all the time, for all the things. Since I got it, I’ve sold most of my other down jackets because I don’t ever reach for another down coat anymore. I’ve even slept in it when camping. It’s my go-to piece of gear as of late.
I have been wearing down jackets all of my adult life (I am 70) and they are always so warm. This jacket fits me very well. My one complaint is that I would prefer to have a snap closure at the neck and at the base of the zipper. If I choose to not wear the hood that keeps the warmth in, as well as for hanging it up on a hanger - keeps it from sliding off the hanger.
Stio does it again! I love this jacket for its mountain casual style, warmth, cozy fleece lined pockets, fitted style without giving up comfort, and vibrant colors. The only thing I would change would be the way the wrist cuffs are designed. They are made to have a curved cuff, but it just doesn't work and looks lightly awkward.
