Paint Came Right Off :(

Knife was inadequately painted. After a quick and friendly phone call, REI has refunded to me the full cost of this item plus appropriate tax and so on. They even let me keep it rather than require that I mail it back. Maybe I got a dud? I ordered and received the one with the Sequoia National Park picture. When I removed it from the plastic packaging, the paint-job seemed ever so slightly tacky or sticky to touch and a small part of it near one edge of the scales had rubbed out due to contact with the plastic bubble. And any part of the colorful paint (which does look nice) can easily be flaked off simply by applying minimal scratching with a thumbnail (and my nails are below average to weak). The act of pulling out the toothpick or tweezers on first attempt, ended up removing a significant portion of the paint. This is not normal wear and tear, this is a failure in curing or drying or sealing the painted imagery. I'll try to include pictures of my knife so you can see the removed paint flakes. Thanks for the proper and prompt refund, REI, but maybe double-check against manufacturing defects on these National Park knives?

Old favorite with a new look

This is your old reliable Swiss Army pocket knife. It doesn’t have all that many tools compared to its big brothers, but what I’d does have is useful. This version replaces the standard red color with nice designs based on popular national parks. I bought Mt. Ranier for my wife because I already had Olympic. Two of our favorite national parks.

Beaware: Image is misleading!

This for SAK is tiny. The images are misleading. I like the Mt. Rainier design but that’s about it. It’s ok for a EDC or emergency backup.

too expensive for the size

Thought I was paying $25 for a decent sized knife not for one smaller than my pinky finger
