I bought this a few years ago to replace an Osprey messenger bag that I had used for daily commuting and finally wore out. I wanted something smaller than my old messenger bag. It’s performed admirably for my intended uses and is still in great shape. I hardly ever use the backpack straps; I carry it crossbody style (better on crowded trains). It also fits over the handle of my rollaboard when I travel. With no hip belt and me being a taller woman, I don’t find the backpack straps all that comfortable. However, the backpack straps are good enough if I needed to walk a few miles with my hands free. The bag easily holds my laptop, a notebook, a water bottle, a snackand the contents of a mom purse. I’ve managed to also stuff a small quantity of lightweight gym clothes in but no shoes. If you’re looking for something to hold your work electronics plus a change of clothes on a business trip, in case the airline loses the rollaboard they forced you to check, you’ll need something bigger. Also, be aware that organization is vertical. Gentlemen, don’t be discouraged by the advertising if you think this might be the right bag for you. I carried the “Jack” version of my old messenger bag for years instead of the “Jill,” because I needed the larger “Jack” size at the time I bought it. Buy what you need and what fits, not the gender labels. Just don’t expect to comfortably wear this bag as a backpack unless you are a smaller-than-average gentleman. My bag is green and black and looks reasonably professional, appropriate with business casual attire.
Love this tote backpack! It’s nicely designed, lightweight, can be carried as a shoulder bad, tote, or backpack. It’s holds a lot as well! Was pleasantly surprised!!!!
