For the mountains and all the places in between

I am a fan. I typically hike in yoga pants but they tend to not breathe super well in the summer. Shorts are a no go for me because of the thigh rub and I also like to minimize exposed. These Mountain Hardwear jogger pants are definitely the sweet spot of something lightweight, breathable, but keeping my legs covered. Fit wise, they have enough give to be comfortable but structured that they aren’t hugging me too much. I am typically on the larger size of a 12 (5’8”) and I would probably try a x-large in these next time to have just a little bit more room and length. The belt is a super cute detail and makes the pant in my opinion! It makes sure the waist is staying up and is very adjustable. I also appreciate the zip pockets because as we all know, you don’t want anything falling out when trying to scramble up something or dancing at your fav music fest! Overall great purchase!

Throwback style without improved material
Received free product
These pants are okay for a casual hang or around a campfire after a long day of hiking. I get where the designers were going with the throwback style, but would have loved to see some updated features. I’ve used them for a couple of short hikes, and the fabric is not quiet. Like annoyingly noisy swishes with each step. There’s no stretch to the material, which is a bummer, because it would make them much more comfortable and versatile. I do love that the three pockets have zippers since it’d be easy for items to fall out when you sit. And praise be—an actual back pocket and functionally deep side pockets on a women’s pant!! The color is a bright lilac, which is fun.

High Quality

Really like these joggers as they are very comfortable and I love the color. All of the three pockets zip which is something that I always look for in a pair of joggers as I tend to lose things if they don’t zip. Main issue with these is that they were very hard to get on as they don’t open up with a zipper of button and I have wide hips that they barely fit over. Aside from struggling to get them past my hips I love them once they are on.

Function over fashion

Received free product

I was a bit apprehensive about these pants to start. They look like they could be hospital scrubs. No one cares what you look like in the woods so I decided to take them on my last camping trip anyway. They are pretty thin so I wore them over a base layer to protect against wet foliage in the early mornings/rain. They proved to be very water repellent and kept my under layer dry. The zipper pockets helped prevent personal items from falling out. The belt helped the pants from falling down. Taking them on and off was a struggle each time. They fit my waist perfectly but sliding them over my hips wasn't easy. I do not think that they were very flattering on my body type but again no one cared at camp.

Fit falls short

Received free product

I really wanted to love these pants! Elastic but also adjustable waist, lightweight (but feels durable), UPF rating, zippered pockets, elastic ankles... and they ARE comfortable. However, the fit is just off. I had a hard time getting them over my hips but, once there, the waist and hip area fit too large. There is so much extra fabric in the crotch area, yet the pants ride up my butt when walking. All the extra fabric rubs on my thighs when walking, too, which made for an uncomfortable walk around the neighborhood. Definitely wasn't about to take them on a longer excursion!

Lightweight, packable, fast drying

Received free product

Pros: great lightweight pant. These will be great for traveling especially during that time of a year where you’re not sure if you need to pack pants or shorts. The SPF is really nice as well and they dry quickly. The color is lovely. The front pockets are a good size and have a nice zipper. Fit: I’m 5’8”, 135 lbs and got a medium. They fit well in the waste, maybe a bit baggy in the thighs. Not sure what a small would have fit like. I do wish they were longer. They’re about 1-2” too short for my preference, but a lot of women’s pants are that way now. Cons: At first they were very static-y, which was a bit annoying. I’m not sure if that will mellow out with time. The back pocket is a bit too small to be useful to me. Too short, like mosquitos are gonna eat my shins when I’m sitting down.

Not for ladies with hips

Received free product

I was looking forward to having lightweight pants that I can wear in the summer and sturdy enough to withstand some possibly scraping by bushes and granite rocks. These pants definitely fit that criteria - lightweight, seems breathable and the material is tough. Good pants to go climbing in. My biggest problem is the fit. The pants have an elastic waist, but they only stretch up to a certain point. The built-in belt is really built-in. You cannot remove it as the opening is purposefully sewn smaller than the belt so it doesn't escape. Nice idea, except it further restricts the pants from stretching! I don't even have large hips, and I could barely get the Small over my butt without squeezing and squirming. But once I got it over, it fit perfectly on my waist. For reference, I'm usually a size S in leggings and wear a size 6-8. I wouldn't recommend this to my ladies with a curvy figure, because you'll have a tough time getting it past your butt and it'll probably hang loose on your waist. The good part is the built-in belt will allow you to cinch it tight against your waist. Not sure these would be the best for having to do your business outdoors on long treks.

Good, not great

Received free product

OK for warm weather camping but I think there are better options out there. Roomy zip pockets are great. I thought I was going to love these for morning dog walks and hikes but the fabric is pretty rough and noisy. The cut also isn’t very flattering - I like a roomy feel but they’re too slouchy around the seat/crotch.

Fit so poorly

Received free product

I was hopeful that these pants would be my go-to summer hiking pants, unfortunately, it is not meant to be. The pros of these pants are they are lightweight and would pack easily, and they have UPF protection. The major downside is the fit. Not only do they seem to run on the small side, but even though the waistband is elastic, it is almost impossible to pull the pants over my hips. Maybe they would fit better on straight-hipped women, but not an average mom of two with a pear-shaped figure. Additionally, the fabric is not the most comfortable and somewhat scratchy. Finally, the color reminds me of hospital scrub pants, though that is probably a personal preference. Sad to say, I won’t be hiking in these pants this summer, as I could barely wear them for 15 minutes walking around my neighborhood.

Joggers for camping or hiking

Received free product

These pants would be great for camping or hiking. A periwinkle jogger with a belt. I didn't like the fabric, it was staticky and parts of the pants would stick to my skin. I am normally a x-small or small and I tried on the small. It ran bigger than normal.
