Arc'teryx  Delta Jacket - Women's

I don't understand the reviews marking this down for being a thin layer. That's what it is. And it's a really good one. One of the runaway strengths of this brand is how lightweight each item is without compromising quality and functionality and this piece is a staple mid layer for me. It's comfortable, warm-but-breathable, and whisper light. The attention to detail is pretty impressive right down to how easy the zippers are to maneuver, how low their footprint is, and how durable this very lightweight fabric is.

I bought this Delta jacket recently for a trip up to the Pacific Northwest b/c I needed a layering piece. The jacket has a lot of pros -- it's well designed, layers well, is lightweight and very packable. I'm 5'4", 125 lb. and bought a size medium. The jacket fits me perfectly everywhere except along my shoulder and below my armpit where it pulls on both sides. I thought maybe that's because I have a relatively large bust so I went back to REI and tried the large. The pulling below my shoulder and armpit was even worse. The zippers on the jacket also seem flimsy to me. Methinks Arc'Teryx can do better than this.

Really…why? This jacket is just barely okay. I have NO idea why you changed the material to whatever this is. But it’s nowhere near as soft or comfortable as the old Delta jacket. Its fit is sloppier and I’m afraid if I tax it all it’s just going to tear. The colors are uninspired, too. The old material was breathable and warm when it needed to be but never too hot and sweaty. I’m not sure how often I’ll wear the new one. But I’ll wear my old style Deltas until they disintegrate. If you give us back the old Delta I promise we will buy them. But I’m not buying this version ever again. PS my husband feels the same. We have six old style Deltas between us.

I have been wearing Delta LT jacket forever on daily basis year round as I live in mountains. This new replacement is such a disappointment! I measure exactly like Arcteryx womens XL and wear many different Arcteryx jackets in this size enjoying a perfect fit. But this new Delta in XL is huge in the shoulders and neck. The smaller women’s size L is supper slim in the waist and hips, too slim to the point of rolling up as I move. The material feels thinner than older Delta LT, but I can not comment on the warmth as I was not able to wear it due to horrendous fit. Arcteryx, please fix this as soon as possible, it is not wearable.

Visited Whistler and saw this jacket in store and knew I had to have the forage colourway. I recently went on a 2 night backpack to Garibaldi Park where the night temperatures dropped and mornings were dewy. The jacket was perfect as a light morning layer and on the second night I wore it to sleep with a lana merino long sleeve and was perfectly happy and snug. It breathes relatively well, however after backpacking for an hour and the sun coming up I delayered. It looks fantastic on and it is a comfortable fit. I'm 5'7 lean and fit size small and found that it fitted perfectly with a bit of room if I wanted light or bulkier baselayers. The fabric is very lightweight, so don't expect this to be a sitting around jacket layer (for that I use an R1). I have no use for the chest pocket so for me it feels redundant but I do like that it adds a little detail.

I have the first Delta jacket that they came out with a few years ago and I LOVED it so much. I was surprised that they changed the product, and I was too nervous to try out the newer version because I didn't think I'd like it as much. Turns out I was wrong. I love it just as much! It does a great job as a base layer to keep me warm while being breathable. I like that it's more durable now because I put a hole in one of my arms after a day of rock climbing. I love being able to put this on under my Atom Hoody to give me an extra layer of warmth.

I have several older Deltas. I love them. Some time ago, I bought the new Delta, thinking it will be similar. Big mistake! It is totally new product. As for the quality, it can not compare to the old Deltas. It is very thin, almost flimsy. The cut is also bad as if intended for men. The only reason why I didn't return it was the colour. I loved the brownish earthy colour. But I will never buy this new Delta again. And I do not recommend it to anyone. I wish, Arcterix brings back the old fabric and the old style of the Deltas.

Love the cut and fit of the jacket, but it’s NOT A FLEECE! The fabric isn’t fleecy at all, more shiny polyester with barely any stretch. It’s felt very scratchy on my skin, every time I tried on, my arms would get itchy and red. I had to return it. The previous version of the Delta was a lot better. The one improvement over the previous version is the thinner underarm panels. The 2 stars are because of the underarm panels, and the Sequoia colour was very nice. Please bring back the previous version!!!

I have bought four of these jackets over the years. The fit and weight is perfect for me, and they are well made. I prefer the earlier waffle fabrication to this one, which looks and feels synthetic.

Thankfully, I bought over a dozen of the old style Delta in lots of colours. A few are getting tatty but on the whole I have a good collection to keep me going. Each year I order a new Delta to try, in the hope they're back to how they used to be, but in the last 4-5 years they've all been sent back. Thin, flimsy, baggy and - worst of all - scratchy. No hint of the style, softness and quality of the old Delta. Why did you ruin one of your best items?
