This might be the perfect vest! I started off loving the color, it’s a bold blue! I then continued to fall in love with it. I have a golden retriever and this vest doesn’t hold a single hair! It’s super thin but managed to still be perfect on cold days. I live in Maryland and our weather is bipolar. The first weekend I had my best I golfed. The next weekend I used it for a snow run. This best is so lightweight that it’s perfect for travel and will come with me this summer on our Scottish golf trip! The last two features I love are its stretchy sides, great for movement, and the inside zipper. It has a drawstring at the bottom. That wasn’t super useful to me…but everything else was great!
A wonderful versatile vest that I'm looking forward to using in every season. The material held up to light wind while cross country skiing and fit over a fleece. While the medium would have been a bit better fit overall (I received small) for me it wasn't restricting at all. Good movement - stretchy sides. I could easily see wearing this under my ski jacket on a very cold day, on a hike, walk or run. I'm expecting this to be a go-to for years to come. Oh... and the color - perfection. Zip pockets perfectly placed with an additional zip pocket inside.
The vest I received was a size small and fit great. First impression for this color is that it’s not my favorite. The shoulder caps and the color reminded me of Disney’s Xenon: Girl of the 21st Century (yes, I dated myself). The material feels durable and I don’t believe it will snag easily. This is a great layering piece for a hike or running vest and I like that the side panels have a little give in case I wanted to layer underneath as well with a thicker top. Pockets: the two hand pockets are a great size and can fit a lot, there is also an interior chest pocket that zips. Overall it’s a well made vest that I’ll continue to layer with, but the shoulder structure and color isn’t my favorite.
I've been using the Atom Insulated Vest for a few weeks now, and I think it's going to become my primary vest layer. It's quite warm, but it's also breathable. The two side panels stretch and breathe, which is perfect when wearing a backpack. While hiking in it, as I warmed up, I didn't feel the need to immediately take it off and stuff it in my backpack, I unzipped and kept it on, and was comfortable the entire time. Did not get sweaty and gross which is always my concern. The pockets (there are three, one on either side and one inside) are generously sized - entire phone fits plus snacks. The outer pockets are fleece lined, which was really nice when I went for a walk and stayed out after dark and my hands started to get cold - popped them in the pockets and they got toasty fast. The zippers are not those annoying invisible kind - they feel sturdy. All pockets have zippers which I love - I like being able to put my things in the pocket and not worry about them falling out. I wore it in a light shower and it held up its warmth. I didn't feel like I was a getting wet so I would use it as a layer in rain, under my raincoat. In light rain, it's fine as is. I found the neck to be a little higher than I would like, but I'm fairly short and have a short torso. It's not uncomfortable, just when fully zipped, it's right up against my head. The fabric feels soft and pliable, but if you are someone with sensory needs, check it before you buy. Sizing wise, I normally wear a M/L and found the M to be a good fit, but fairly snug in the chest area, which I was expecting. With the snugness in the chest, it hit me right by the hip.
I held off on purchasing an Atom Vest simply because I have every other type of Atom (SL, LT, AR, Shacket...). I'd been xc skiing in a Thorium Vest which was great but by the end I'd get so sweaty that the vest would be wet by the end of it. It's not only proven successful for xc skiing, but also hiking/walking in the rain where I want to be warm but not sweating underneath a GORE-TEX shell. I bought my usual size (medium) and it's a perfect fit. It's so comfortable, hugging you in a warm embrace. So great for layering - I'm a believer! Buy it!
I have the Atom SL, which I love. This is similar, the collar is again a comfortable height (not the tall the previous Atom had). The material is slightly stiffer, and maybe a bit heavier than the SL. The pockets are now lined with fleece. The main change is the cut. I usually wear a M, but the small fits like the M in the SL model. I could wear either, but wanted the vest to be trimmer fitting. Length is also great, I am 5’2”, 125 pounds.
Comfortable, loose fit but not too baggy Good amount of insulation for a layering piece but also to be worn with a long sleeve underneath as the top layer. Great all around piece. Love it.
I’m so delighted by this piece. Light weight, warm, layers well and inside zipper pocket large enough to secure passport and credit cards. Soulsonic color is beautiful.
Lightweight and warm, gorgeous color, great length. Fit allows for a woman's curves; true to size (M).
Wife loves this she uses this vest over her scrubs at the hospital.
