I have several pairs of Fjallraven trousers that I wear to work outdoors and that I do like but these are the first set that fit me properly. As someone who is petite but with a small waist and wider hips, I have great difficulty finding pants that fit my hips/butt without leaving a big waist gap. These are a game-changer with the elastic band, roomier hips width and bigger pockets. The material is stretchy and breathable but still heavy enough to withstand the bush-whacking involved at my work. These are also very flattering, you can wear them out to brunch! Please don't change or get rid of these wonderful trousers, I will be sure to buy many more!
I had to return these because the sizing was off. I am a 40 in all other FR trousers I have tried (Keb, Vida pro, Keb agile, Abisko midsummer, Abisko lite) but these were too small. I measured the waistband and these are a full 2 inches smaller than other models in the same size. I’m on the fence about whether I will repurchase in a bigger size. I was initially very excited about there being an option with an elasticated waist, but this would be so much better if it was elasticated all of the way around and not just a the back. It’s my stomach that fluctuates, not my back, so elastic at the front would make more sense to me.
These are lightweight, flexible pants that feel quite durable. Perfect for mild weather hikes. I originally purchased these pants in a size EU40/US8 but had to size up to EU42/US10. For reference, my waist circumference is 29-30 inches and hip/bum area is 41 inches. The EU40/US8 fit snug on the waist but was skintight on my legs—I have big thighs. I could not put anything in the pockets or sit/walk without feeling restricted. In contrast, the EU42/US10 fits me much better despite being a tad loose at the waist. Nothing a belt won’t fix. I’d recommend going with your hip measurement when choosing a size in these pants!
I own several different Fjallraven pants and this Abisko Hybrid Trail Trouser is my favorite. I would highly recommend. They are very comfortable, the high cut waist, the stretch waistline is most ideal for real outdoor activity and they are overall very attractive. The fabric is lightweight comparted to Fjallraven models, yet rugged enough to be a dedicated trail work pant. The thigh pockets my favorite. A slip inside the pocket for a cellphone to be kept upright, and a zipper on the other to keep a wallet extra secure. Both thigh pockets have snaps. The hand pockets are good, but would be nice if they were just an inch or two deeper as I found some pocket change escapes when sitting down (my only complaint). I'm 5'8", 150 lbs and 60 yrs old. I ordered EU42/US10 Regular 32" inseam and they fit very well. They are my favorite pants to wear an amusement parks and traveling. I wish Fjallraven made this model in more colors.
Just got these in the mail; wanted more heavy-duty ones, but these come in short! Bought the colder weather version in a perfect fit in size 8 & love them, but these run smaller, so ordered 10 & am not sure if will need a size up. I always wore a competitor's mid range brand, but the pocket zippers keep going on me, so am Fjalraven all the way now! I do wish that back pockets were included in these & the winter pants - men get them for practicality, so why not women??
The elastic in the back is chef’s kiss! I have the Vidda Pros and love them for their comfort and durability but these are a much more flattering with a fitted shape. I really wanted a women’s version of the men’s vardag trousers but these had to do as they don’t have a women’s vardag trouser option. I’m happy!
Walked in the rain to try them out. Repelled constant rainfall. Love the stretchy crotch for extreme bending or elevation gain. Pockets on thighs helpful for phone stash.
Great pants - roomy enough for a casual bike ride and kept me dry in the pouring rain; durable and cool on an 10-mile hike. Pockets are well placed and useful
ADORE THESE! I have tried ALL the supposedly 'high waist' trousers that Fjallraven have (including the Brenners, Forest Hybrids, Keb Agile, Abisko Zip-offs and the Vidda Pro trousers) and NONE of them compare to these. I already loved to Abisko Stretch but was looking for something a little more rugged and durable. Pros - So comfortable, can sit/squat/step up/stretch with so much ease. - SO flattering - I have lush curves and they make me look great. I feel super confident in them. - On the trail I found them to be comfortable, breathable and sturdy. - They don't chafe your legs - the thicker G-1000 fabrics tend to cause rashes because they're so stiff. These are super soft and stretchy! - They don't lose their shape - unlike the Forest Hybrids. - Pockets are lovely, some have zips on them too to keep stuff safe. - Tons of ventilation. - They're high waist - I am tall and have a long torso and have SUCH A HARD TIME finding high waist trousers, These go to my navel (probably 11-12 inch front rise). - Love that they can be waxed and fully intend to do that. Cons - only that it took so long for these to come out. And maybe show us some other colours?! Bravo Fjallraven, bravo.
