Roomy tent. Definitely use the footprint and do not try to put any aerosol water repellent on yours. I did with mine and it stained the material. Really great poles. Someone with two left thumbs could set this up in a matter of minutes. Great quality.
As I write, I'm in this tent during T.S. Eta on the Outer Banks. The Tent is staked and the fly pitched taut, splash is bouncing off the sand onto the inside mesh on all four corners. No puddles, but everything that was in the corners is wet. It's not meant to be In a 30 to 40 mph wind , this tent wanted to push itself over. I will say none of the poles bent, probably because it was guyed in every way possible. Granted, 6 inches of rain and Hatteras winds were tough. I expected more out of the Outside Magazine Gear of the year tent. JJ
Just received Mineral King 2 tent. Just can wait for next trip Pro: - Easy set up in my garage - Very spacious - Light weight pole Con: foot print is very cheap design. I wish foot print has eyelids for each corner where each end of pole can connect together with tent body or clips to clip on like rain fly.
Overall, I am very pleased with this tent. I am a bit worried about the longevity of the zipper, which could be stronger and better quality. The insect mesh is perfect, however--very tight and dense.
This is a great tent. Very intuitive set up. Thoughtful features, and it looks pretty cool too!
Great Size tent. Not the best for high strength storms but good enough.
