NEMO  Stargaze Evo-X Folding Reclining Camp Chair

I was prepared to dislike this chair based on previous reviews complaining about portability, but I was pleasantly surprised. Compared to the previous version, it’s bigger/wider. There are instructions on the nylon straps to help fold the chair away. Best of all, it is comfortable for rocking and reclining. We use these at home with the tripod camping stool to prop up our feet. For my husband who has back issues/prior spine surgery, using the tripod stool as an ottoman is a game changer and makes this chair even more useful to him. I had to get him his own copy of the stargazer chair and tripod stool: so I could get mine back! Your mileage may vary. It might not even fit your height /frame. I’m 5’3” tall and my husband is 5’8” tall. We both find these chairs a great way to unwind. Crr

Should have done this sooner!! I’ve been looking at these chairs since the first generation came out and finally pulled the plug and purchased 2. Nice packaging, very easy to set up and once you sit down hopefully you have everything you need because you’re not going to want to get up because they are so comfortable! Easy to take down and pack up when the time comes. They look and feel solid enough that they will last a long time too.

This chair is everything I want it to be- comfortable, sturdy, and portable for adventures near and far. While it's a bit too heavy to carry long distances, it will be my constant road tripping and car camping companion. I love being able to swing gently and recline while enjoying the view of the clouds or stars, or just have a comfy place to read a book in my back yard. All around great chair. I'd highly recommend it.

Yeah, and worth every penny! No matter how long you’ve been camping, there comes a time when doing it the way you did it when you were young just doesn’t work. I camp for lots of reasons, and in lots of settings. But one of the things I ALWAYS want to do when I’m camping is relax and do it COMFORTABLY. I don’t need a Winnebago, but the old camp chairs— just about ALL of them—don’t work for me any more. But This one—no kidding—DOES. The best addition I’ve made to my gear in a LONG time.

The Stargaze NWO Evo-X is too bulky and heavy for my liking—nearly twice the size and weight of the original Stargaze. I do like the color options and find it a touch more comfortable, but not enough to make up for how hard it is to pack and transport. It takes up far too much space in my vehicle when camping, and the extra bulk outweighs the small comfort upgrade. I bought my husband the original Stargaze, and we decided to try this version. While the chair feels similar once set up, packing it is frustrating. The oversized design and added weight just aren’t worth it; it's like hauling a golf bag. Disappointing. I’ll be returning it to spend a little more on the higher-end model instead.

Only time will tell….. awesome so far! Bough it for my girl cause she fell in love with it at the store, then I come to find out the thing is rated for 300lbs! I’m a bigger guy and finding a char that fits my larger frame is rare, this one definitely does, and it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart while doing so. Yes, it’s definitely on the bulkier side once packed up but given the sturdiness of it I can live with that. The reclining feature is pretty cool too!

Very comfortable! Easy to set up and take down, however it is heavy and bulky.

I bought this as I love the regular star gaze chair so much but it was not in stock when I was looking for a second chair. This one is convenient for soccer games as it’s more like an umbrella chair so it’s easy to setup and put down. That being said, the regular version I feel is superior. It’s cooler with the mesh back, higher head rest for my height 6’ and the bucket fits my posterior more comfortably and provides lumbar support whereas this variant doesn’t provide that same level of support. I’m content with the purchase but wish I would have put the money towards the more expensive version once it was back in stock. The extra comfort is worth the longer setup time for me.

I bought the Stargaze EVO-X folding reclining camp chair about 3 weeks ago and have used it considerable since then. My favorite thing about it is how easy it is to set up and the ability to fully lay back. Like all Nemo products, it is well built and thoughtfully designed. It is a perfect chair for lounging back and watching the clouds or observing night skies. My only wish is if it had a deeper seat or the ability to contour more to my body when sitting upright like the Moonlite. When reclined it is very luxurious. I recommend to anyone who wants a camp chair that is easy to deploy and wants to lay back and relax.

I’ve been thinking about buying these for years and so glad I finally went ahead and got them. They have been such a big upgrade over our old camp chairs. Reclining under the stars is something I didn’t realize I needed until using these!! Also love how easy these are to set up and fold away, literally takes seconds. Another major perk is the carrying case they come with. Super comfy to carry around with shoulder strap and keeps the car from getting dirty when packing them away :)
