Almost $200 for a camp chair???
Yeah, and worth every penny! No matter how long you’ve been camping, there comes a time when doing it the way you did it when you were young just doesn’t work. I camp for lots of reasons, and in lots of settings. But one of the things I ALWAYS want to do when I’m camping is relax and do it COMFORTABLY. I don’t need a Winnebago, but the old camp chairs— just about ALL of them—don’t work for me any more. But This one—no kidding—DOES. The best addition I’ve made to my gear in a LONG time.

Inexpensive camp chairs are more comfortable
I wanted the Nemo Stargaze for a long time. When I tried it out, I found it uncomfortable and too bulky to be attractive to bring on a camping trip. The seat even though wide squeezes in on your thighs because of its poor design.

Surprise oasis

I was prepared to dislike this chair based on previous reviews complaining about portability, but I was pleasantly surprised. Compared to the previous version, it’s bigger/wider. There are instructions on the nylon straps to help fold the chair away. Best of all, it is comfortable for rocking and reclining. We use these at home with the tripod camping stool to prop up our feet. For my husband who has back issues/prior spine surgery, using the tripod stool as an ottoman is a game changer and makes this chair even more useful to him. I had to get him his own copy of the stargazer chair and tripod stool: so I could get mine back! Your mileage may vary. It might not even fit your height /frame. I’m 5’3” tall and my husband is 5’8” tall. We both find these chairs a great way to unwind. Crr

Quality

I’ve been eyeing up this chair for a while, but I wasn’t sure if it was worth the price. My other butterfly-style camp chairs are wearing out, so I decided I was going to spend a little more in hopes that my next chair would last a bit longer. I saw a sale decided to give this one a try. I was immediately surprised at the quality of the carrying bag- a tough handle and a padded adjustable shoulder strap. Setup was super easy. The chair itself is super comfy. I’m 6’4” so I need to slouch a bit to have my head rest on the integrated head pad. I like how the reclining feature doesn’t just let you fall backwards unintentionally. I can lean all the way back and rock without feeling the legs tip. All the components look and feel high-quality; pair that with a lifetime warranty and you can see it’s worth the money. Folding it up isn’t super intuitive but luckily there are directions with pictures sewn into the bag. I didn’t have to fight this thing into the bag either. The design and the craftsmanship are great, It’s comfy, and It comes with a lifetime warranty. Worth buying.

Only time will tell….. awesome so far!

Only time will tell….. awesome so far! Bough it for my girl cause she fell in love with it at the store, then I come to find out the thing is rated for 300lbs! I’m a bigger guy and finding a char that fits my larger frame is rare, this one definitely does, and it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart while doing so. Yes, it’s definitely on the bulkier side once packed up but given the sturdiness of it I can live with that. The reclining feature is pretty cool too!

Comfortable, But Far Too Big and Heavy

The Stargaze NWO Evo-X is too bulky and heavy for my liking—nearly twice the size and weight of the original Stargaze. I do like the color options and find it a touch more comfortable, but not enough to make up for how hard it is to pack and transport. It takes up far too much space in my vehicle when camping, and the extra bulk outweighs the small comfort upgrade. I bought my husband the original Stargaze, and we decided to try this version. While the chair feels similar once set up, packing it is frustrating. The oversized design and added weight just aren’t worth it; it's like hauling a golf bag. Disappointing. I’ll be returning it to spend a little more on the higher-end model instead.

Love it.

I’ve only tested it indoors so far, but I’m already really impressed. I’d consider this the second-generation Stargaze it improves on many of the issues I noticed in the first version. Setup is quick and simple, taking just 10 to 30 seconds to open or pack away. The material feels softer, and the seating area is noticeably wider, which makes it more comfortable overall. It does a great job of capturing that relaxing hammock-like feel. While it’s not a full-size hammock, it comes pretty close to delivering that same experience. Will update with photos soon once i get to test it outdoors doing some star gazing.
